Sleight of wallet? So we got these nice notices saying that they are going to start renting 55 DVDs every month, which tenants will be able to borrow/watch free of charge. Also they are going to be leaving the lounge unlocked longer hours. On Wednesday nights from 6PM-midnight they will have 0.25towashand0.25 to wash and 0.25towashand0.25 to dry for 50 minutes in the laundry room.

Sounds good, eh? But TANSTAAFL my friends TANSTAAFL. I guess they forgot to slip in the notice that they were upping the price on the dryers all other hours to $0.25 for every 15 minutes. Which they have done. And it usually took about 50-60 minutes to get any reasonable amount of clothing dry anyway. Anybody believe they are not making more profit at tenants' expense after the combination of the added benefits and charges?

This stinks to me of "bread and circuses". And I feel insulted by it. I can't blame the Riv though too much for taking advantage of the BYU Approved Housing racket that I think is the root of most of the economic absurdity that surrounds Provo apartment living.

I live in the Riv, but not in a Riv ward. I kind of came unexpectedly due to serious problems at the other complex owned by the same folks, University Villa. Anyway, it has been fun so far, despite not being as social among Rivites as I wish I was. My fault and loss I'm sure.

Wow I am yet amazed to know that this exists. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Chappy, over here in 27. It's late I know, I'm a night bug (don't care too much for owls) and basically write a lot. I won't post too many of those writings here, unless they are about the wonderfull-ness of the Riviera apartments... but I don't see that happening too soon. Basch, it's almost time for bed.

You guys should check out ____glamorous, they rock.

So, it seems as if I'll be living in the Riv next year. Apt 19 to be exact. I'm excited, but everyone keeps telling me it's a party place. Which I find hard to believe...but oh well. I just sort of picked it cause it had decent rent and my Daddy lived there, hehe. And my Uncle. I'm sure it was much nicer 25 years ago...but what can ya do?

East Entrance Talked to the manager in the RIV today about how all the low clearance cars scrape on the east entrance if you don't go in *just* right. She was surprised to hear about it. Apparently, no one's ever complained about it before, and she drives in with a big vechicle everyday so she's never noticed it herself. O_o

So now she's going to talk to 'the guys' about having one of those little concrete bridges put there(like the ones to get into Pizza Pipeline).

....or if that doesn't work, they may post the entrance as 'restricted access'. which might suck.

I used to live in 8 with Michelle and Heidi, and in the fall I will be moving into #134. So hopefully our old ward will be just as cool as our new ward!
