A Thousand Sunny Days (original) (raw)

Franky's back up and running so we're back online.

Minna-san--- our shipwright's main processor [read: Franky's computer] got a virus and crashed. He won't be around until he can get it up and running again, which will hopefully be soon.

Usopp recovered from his 'loaded-the-boat-too-fast-all-by-myself' sickness once they cast off from the ship, though he was a little more winded than he felt he should have been, and set about proving his prowess at navigating the smaller boat toward shore.

"Yosh!!" he cried, really quite excited to explore a new place. For all his very vocal misgivings, he was an explorer in his soul. Plus, what could happen to him, in this kind of company, on a tiny island?

A shadow passed over his heart at the thought and he shuddered... but he pushed the feeling away as they made landfall.

"Captain Usopp traverses deadly waters once again, without mishap!" he declared and hopped out of the boat to help push it ashore.

The walkways to the upper levels of Water 7 with filled with Marines, standing single file as a man with a giant grey jacket with the word 'justice' was written on the back in red. After riding one of those animals they called 'transportation' on this island, Smoker was glad to be back on land. There was a rumor going around that Straw Hat crew had been here not too long ago, which meant he wasn't far off the trail. He stopped before the giant door that lead to the Galley-La shipyard, the company that was owned and operated by the Mayor, Iceburg. He then pushed the giants doors opens easily and looked around from side to side.

"Oi, who here can tell me where to find Mayor Iceburg?" Smoker said calmly, not in the mood to hear any smart ass reponse.

Luffy fell out of his hammock, hitting the wooden floor jaw-first. He stayed suspended in the impromptu head-stand, legs waggling in the air, and tears pricked the corners of his bleary eyes. "Ah bid by tongue~" He whined, and then slammed his hands down on the floor. "Hup!" Arms stretching like silly putty, he propelled himself into a neat flip, and landed sandals down. He was remarkably spry and energetic for someone who had just woken up. Tentatively, he sniffed the air.

Something was wrong. Luffy was accustomed to the fragrant aroma of breakfast when he awoke. Had he missed breakfast?! What time was it?! Growling both from his mouth and the pit of his empty stomach, he lurched for the door.

"OIIIII~! Why didn't anyone waaake me upppp? SANJI! MEAT!" He called as he sprinted for the upper deck, arms pumping. The rest of his nakama, including the cook who should have been preparing an extravagant feast, were standing on the grass of the Thousand Sunny, talking about... something. Ignoring the jungle outcrop that loomed closer and closer, Luffy hopped atop the deck rail and beat his fists against his chest, roaring: "I'M HUNGRY!"

We have some interesting adventures planned (and an amusing first enemy, if you happened to catch the tail-end of the last mini RP session) but it's very hard to progress without a Luffy. To be specific, it makes sense that Sanji wouldn't be taking the food-vacuum with him to gather edible provisions, but there's only so long we can stretch that out. Before we go pimping the comm out to general One Piece LJs, does anyone know a pal who'd be willing to fill that strawhat? If any of our members have OP fans on their personal friendslists, it might be a good idea to mention it in a post.

Nami eased open the door to the dining area and ducked her head and one shoulder in, her hair bouncing. "Anou, Sanji-kun... We're approaching a small summer island, if you wanted to take a gathering party ashore. I know we're running low on fresh fruit and vegetables."

Just over Nami's shoulder, visible in the misty expanse before the smiling lion-head of the Thousand Sunny, was a tiny outcrop of predominantly green. The island was insiginificant enough to not have attracted the magnetic pull of the Log Pose.

The LoveCook and I have given it some SERIOUS thought, and we think that most anything posted to the community page should be in paragraph style format, instead of the present tense style ramblings between characters you can see on the various journals that're active. Thoughts? Objections? Let's hear'em!
