You have just been approached with a proposition. Someone will write and produce a play based on your life. They'll let you direct it and cast it,but first, they need to know some things...1. Would you want it to be a musical or not?2. Briefly name and describe each character you'd want to use.3. What's the plot?4. How would you like the set to be designed?5. What's the title going to be?

Dear you, Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Molly, WSHS Thespian president and theatre enthusiast extraordinaire , and I would like to cordially invite each and every one of you to our presentation of Moises Kaufman's The Laramie Project. On October 7, 1998, a young gay man was discovered bound to a fence in the hills outside Laramie Wyoming, savagely beaten and left to die in an act of brutality and hate that shocked the nation. Matthew Shepard's death became a national symbol of intolerance, but for the people of Laramie the event became deeply personal, and it is their voices we hear in this stunningly effective theater piece.Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project made six trips to Laramie over the course of a year and a half in the aftermath of the beating and conducted more than 200 interviews with people of the town. From theses interviews as well as their own experiences, Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater members have constructed a deeply moving theatrical experience. The Laramie Project chronicles the life of the town of Laramie in the year after the murder, using eight actors to embody more than sixty different people in their own words - from rural ranchers to university professors. The result is a complex portrayal that dispels the simplistic media stereotypes and explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable."Deeply moving.... This play is Our Town with a question mark, as in 'Could this be our town?'" -New York Times"Kaufman is pioneering a new genre of theater. He aims for radical redefinition of theater is capable of."-Time Magazine"Astonishing. Not since Angels in America has a play attempted so much: nothing less than an examination of the American psyche at the end of the millennium."-Associated PressWhite Station High School presents _The Laramie Project_April 6-8, 2005WSHS Auditorium$5 (All of Friday night's proceeds will be donated.) We can only hope to do this show right and with the proper performance it deserves. Thank you so much to anyone who comes and/or supports. We appreciate it very much. All my love and more, Molly*~ ps - Congrats on the amazing run of Godspell!

I'm a student at White Station High and if you didnt already know, our auditorium sucks. So PIE (partners in education) has a little extra money and they're willing to help us get a new curtain for our stage because the one we currently have is torn and broken and duct-taped and just ugly.My mom suggested we could get a local theatre to donate one, so she emailed Rhodes and some other places. Unfortunately, Rhodes doesn't have a curtain because their stage is round. Yeah ha ha ha. I posted some stuff in the memphis_tn community and I was told to talk to Theatre Memphis. So, being the lazy person that I am, figured I could just post in this community because maybe you kids would know something about donating a curtain or finding one somewhere or whatnot.Any help would be wonderful! Thanks.

Yay go Nat. I'm glad that you started this. Like I said earlier, I am not as much a part of the TM slave group yet, but I do want to so I am putting myself in this community. Sorry everything went so haywire last night, but just remember that it will always be better tomorrow, especially tuesday when yours truly will sweep you off your feet, put you on my back, and run around backstage until Liz tells me its time to go to warm-ups.Rock on Nat, Chris
