2013 dSC6D Big Bang Sign ups are LIVE

Yes, you read that right - hazelwho and I are running the big bang again this year, and sign ups start TODAY!

2013 due South/Canadian 6 Degrees Big Bang

The Due South/Canadian Six Degrees fandom is gearing up for its fifth big bang, and we'd love to have more Flashpoint fans participate! We're looking for authors, artists and podficcers to create primary works, and for authors, artists, icon makers, fanmix makers, etc to create complementary fanworks.

Sign ups will be March 11th - March 31st. Rough drafts of primary works are due August 25th. Complement piece claims open August 30th. Everything is due by October 7th and the challenge will go live on Canadian Thanksgiving, October 14th!

Ratings news

TV, eh? is reporting Flashpoint's ratings are up 13% from last fall, and "Episode 2 (Oct. 4) made history as the first stand alone Canadian series in 16 years to win the prestigious 10 p.m. timeslot with overnight data in the fall season."

Curious if we'll hear about ratings on ION. They're not a major network and straddle a weird broadcast/cable system, so I'm thinking we'll only hear about it if they do a press release.

TV by the Numbers: Hit Crime Drama 'Flashpoint' Returns to Ion Television With All-New Season Five Premiering Tuesday October 16

I agree with the comments there, I can't figure out why they're airing new episodes at 11:00 ET/PT, as that's outside of "primetime" hours. Though perhaps it's to avoid competition with the big network shows on that day.

If there's interest in a weekly episode post for discussion, I can set that up.

Flashpoint on ION?

ION TV has been great for airing blocks of Flashpoint, but I have yet to find any mention of when new episodes will begin airing in the US. I saw October 16th listed at one site, but ION's own website doesn't show the new episode title, just repeats.

Anyone heard anything?
