This study aims to analyse the marketing of red chili pepper using price efficiency analysis. The... more This study aims to analyse the marketing of red chili pepper using price efficiency analysis. The data used is secondary data, namely time series data of monthly red chili pepper prices at the level of farmers, intermediate traders, wholesalers, retailers and consumers during 2015 to 2019. Data processing was carried out using quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the price efficiency analysis conclude that in the short and long term the red chili pepper market at the farm level is strongly intermediate traders, wholesalers, retailers and consumers. This can be seen from the IMC value which is smaller than 1 and the coefficient b2 which is greater than 0.05. This integration shows the marketing of red chilies in North Sumatra is efficient when viewed from price efficiency.

Therefore the government has set red chili pepper as a strategic commodity with a production target of 2.29 million tons in 2019. One of the centers of red chili pepper production is North Sumatera. As a production center, the problem is usually about the low prices at the farm level. This is due to the lack of a marketing channel role analysis that could accommodate farmers' aspirations, causing farmers to not have bargaining power, so farmers are only a "price taker”. This research was designed as a case study conducted from June 2012 to July 2012 in Kurao Pagang, Padang City, West Sumatera. In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative design. The results of this study showed that the integrated farming system through the SMD Program in Tani Ternak Sepakat Groups has implemented the integration between paddy farming and breeding funded by SMD Program. For breeding activity, The Tani Ternak Sepakat group raises both goats and cows. At the same time, the farmer group also cultivates paddy only for integrating between paddy farming and cattle. Penentuan responden petani dipilih dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dan responden pedagang dipilih dengan snowball sampling. Data primer digunakan untuk melakukan analisis efisiensi operasional, sedangkan data sekunder time series bulanan dalam periode 2004 – 2014 digunakan untuk analisis efisiensi harga. Berdasarkan analisis efisiensi operasional terbukti bahwa saluran pemasaran yang terbentuk belum efisien akibat posisi tawar petani yang rendah. The purpose of Community Partnership Program (CPP) by the team from Wilmar Bisnis Indonesia polyt... more The purpose of Community Partnership Program (CPP) by the team from Wilmar Bisnis Indonesia polytechnic is to give a touch of knowledge, skill, and innovation in processing cassava into MOCAF (Modified Cassava Flour). Limited acces to get information, skills and capital in processing cassava into MOCAF are the main problem by the farmers in Patumbak districts. Because of that, the method used in this program is training and mentoring. In addition, the provision of production (processing) equipment is also provided to farmers. Therefor, this program can give contribution to develop of agriculture product processing (agroindustry) and increase the farmers income. PENDAHULUAN Rendahnya pendapatan merupakan masalah klasik yang selalu dihadapi oleh petani. Jika kita menilik berbagai faktor yang menjadi penyebabnya, diantaranya disebabkan oleh : (1) Lahan Pertanian, (2) Musim, (3) Inovasi pengolahan yang rendah, (4) Pendidikan, (5) Umur, (6) Jenis Kelamin, dan (7) Harga [1]. Dari ke tujuh faktor tersebut, ketiadaan inovasi dalam pengolahan produk hasil pertanian merupakan salah satu faktor penyebabnya [2]. Pertanian yang belum berbasis agroindustri menyebabkan kegiatan perdagangan hasil pertanian hanya terbatas pada produk segar saja. Akibatnya harga jual pada tingkat petani cenderung rendah dan turut menggiring terhadap rendahnya pendapatan petani. Pengembangan agroindustri memiliki prospek yang cerah untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah produk pertanian. Pengembangan pengolahan hasil pertanian berbasis inovasi menjadi layak untuk diterapkan pada berbagai produk hasil pertanian, salah satunya ubi kayu. Ubi kayu yang merupakan tanaman tropis dengan daya adaptasi cukup tinggi terhadap iklim maupun jenis lahan yang kurang subur [3] memiliki nilai strategis untuk dilakukan pengolahan menjadi produk yang berdaya saing dan mampu memberikan peningkatan pada harga jual seperti pengolahan ubi kayu menjadi MOCAF (Modified Cassava Flour) [4]; [5].
