how as Chyna's ex boyfriend abusive? (original) (raw)

I was touched by the way the Surreal Life cast kept Chyna from going back to her abusive former boyfriend/fiancee. I'm a little unclear though on how they knew he was abusive and in what way was he abusive? Do they assume just because she attempted suicide while they were together that he was abusive? Or did she actually tell the cast he used to abuse her? And was he physically abusive or emotionally abusive?

Can some one clear this up for me please?
