Farewell to Freshness [17 Sep 2006|02:43am]
"Drunk and sweaty," is how Fresh Meat frontwoman Tina Gravelson described her mood following the band's final show, proving that the band has died as it lived. While their time together on this earth was short, Tina and her Fresh Meat co-conspirators have left us a legend, a 5-song EP and a trail of empty Jagermeister bottles this city will not soon forget. Hit the band's site to pick up some soon-to-be-rare merch before a copy of their CD ends up on eBay for $63,785,125.42. That's US dollars, by the way. While this reporter barely got a chance to hear the names Peter and Aaron, he hopes that these recent additions to the Fresh Meat lineup find a new direction in their lives and praises them for surviving their time in the band with their bones and internal organs relatively intact. As for veterans Tina and Scooter? Tina has hinted that she is going to spend her newfound retirement honing her craft on the guitar in order to graduate from a rocking musician into one who "fucking rules." Sources close to Scooter say that he has "a million girlfriends," and this reporter believes that if he manages to keep himself out of jail, out of detox, out of the clutches of curious alien beings and out of reach of any potentially jealous boyfriends, he will once again be seen on stage providing deep basslines and skyrocketing bar tabs to new bands in the City of Toronto.Farewell, Fresh Meat, and may you forever be All Dolled Up.

We need some new shticks. Back in the day, one of the girls from the Naked News used to barbecue on stage. I can't use that again because is wasn't my idea. I don't want to be a rip off artist.I was thinking about having us give out candy during the Sunshine and Lollypops intro, but I don't know. What else?
