) has decided to raise its own

music band

, vice-chancellor (VC) Prof R K Singh has said.
“There was no dearth of talents among the PPU students who have a genuine flair for music and cultural activities. The university has assigned the task of raising the music band of mostly girls to head of Music Department, Prof Rita Das.

The music band will represent the university in an inter-university cultural and musical meet to be held shortly,” the VC said during the concluding day function of an inter-college cultural meet held at J D Women’s College here on Thursday.
According to PPU dean of students’ welfare (DSW) Prof A K Nag, altogether 16 teams from different constituent colleges of the university participated in the inter-college cultural meet in Patna. “Among other competitions, Astha Kumari of Rajgir Degree College was declared the winner of solo classical dance, while Nidhi of Oriental College, Patna City, and Rishu Raj of B S College, Danapur, were declared joint winners for the second prize. Shreya of A N College, Patna, and Abhilasha of College of Commerce, Arts and Science emerged joint winners of the third prize,” he said.
