Badarpur, a key assembly constituency in Delhi, has witnessed intense electoral battles, reflecting shifting political allegiances over the years. The seat has seen alternating victories between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). While BJP’s Ramvir Singh Bidhuri secured wins in 2013 and 2020, AAP’s Narayan Dutt Sharma claimed a decisive victory in 2015. Earlier, BSP’s Ram Singh Netaji won in 2008, demonstrating the constituency's diverse political preferences. With high voter turnout and close margins, Badarpur remains a critical battleground. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, BJP’s Ramvir Singh Bidhuri won the Badarpur seat with 90,082 votes, defeating AAP’s Ram Singh Netaji by a narrow margin of 3,719 votes. A total of 1,91,460 valid votes were cast out of 3,21,556 registered electors. The 2015 elections saw AAP’s Narayan Dutt Sharma securing a landslide victory with 94,242 votes, defeating BJP’s Ramvir Singh Bidhuri by a massive margin of 47,583 votes. The total number of valid votes cast was 1,70,401 out of 2,60,887 electors. In 2013, BJP’s Ramvir Singh Bidhuri won the seat with 45,344 votes, defeating INC’s Ram Singh Netaji by 13,854 votes. The total number of valid votes cast stood at 1,32,460 out of 2,06,380 electors. In 2008, BSP’s Ram Singh Netaji won with 53,416 votes, defeating INC’s Ramvir Singh Bidhuri by 13,305 votes. A total of 1,12,929 valid votes were cast out of 1,99,209 registered electors.
