Working with Mysskin has been a complete delight: Anu Emmanuel

Actress Anu Emmanuel is juggling three film industries with relative ease -Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Her debut Kollywood project with Vishal is complete and the Malayali beauty tells us how it was...
How was it working with Mysskin?
I am debuting in Tamil with

Thupparivaalan

, a Mysskin sir directorial. I know that people have varied opinions about him. But working with Mysskin sir has been a complete delight.

I don't understand why people say he is short tempered, he is definitely unique in his own way and I've learnt a lot from him.
What is your role in the movie?

I play a pick-pocket in the film. Mysskin didn't want me to pre pare anything, he would let me know then and there; he wanted it to be organic. It was a bit challenging as it was my first Tamil film, and also, the character was a bit odd. I remember I had to learn the art of pick-pocketing -like how to steal easily and gracefully .
You've been working with all the big actors (Nivin Pauly in Malayalam, and Nani and Allu Arjun in Telugu). How was it working with Vishal?

Vishal is a very chilled out person and very comfortable to work with. He doesn't bring the tensions of his other commitments related to the Nadigar Sangam and other issues to the set.
You are known to be a very independent person. Do you think your growing up in the US has worked in your favour?
Yes, I am very independent person. And I plan on being that way. Being independent has worked for me. Every time I had to depend on someone things didn't go well. Also,I don't like the feeling of asking someone for something. It's great feeling when you can just do it yourself.
Not only did I grow up in the US, but I was born there as well. Many people have asked me how do you adjust here in India without your parents or the change of atmosphere. Honestly my dream has kept me surviving and here I am. I couldn't be happier.
You have done one movie each in Malayalam and Tamil. But you are very busy in Telugu. Do you prefer doing Telugu movies?
I definitely want to do more films in Malayalam and Tamil but right now Telugu is where I'm getting the best offers.
How is the Telugu industry treating you? Do you see any difference between the three film industries -Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu?
I don't see any difference between Malayalam, Tamil or Telugu industries. I think it's the kind of people you work with is what makes the experience different.
How do you choose your script?
I choose a script based on whether I would prefer watching a film like that or not. I keep in mind whether the audience would enjoy it or not. I also take into consideration my screen presence, glam quotient, banner and the lead actor before I sign up. But the weightage is always for the script and the team, because if the film works overall so will it for me.
