During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shilpa revealed that she did not receive much public support or acknowledgment from her family while on the reality show. She explained that Mahesh Babu, her sister Namrata Shirodkar, and she are not the type to openly express their feelings for one another. This reserved nature is something they all share as a family. Shilpa stressed that she entered Bigg Boss with her own identity and not merely as Mahesh Babu's sister-in-law.
She said, "Mahesh and Namrata are very reserved people, and the world is quick to label them arrogant. Mahesh is reserved, but he is a very nice person. He is very, very cool. Of course, he is reserved, but he is always there. If you need anything, he will be there for you."

Despite the lack of public displays of affection, Shilpa praised Mahesh Babu's kind-heartedness and dismissed the idea of people calling him arrogant. She pointed out that while he may come off as reserved, he is genuinely a nice person who is always willing to help those in need.
