Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar's love story began in 1999 when they first met at the 'Vamsi' mahurat. Namrata, who won Miss India Universe in 1993 before entering films, and Mahesh, who was making his mark in Telugu cinema with films like 'Rajakumarudu' and 'Murari', felt an instant connection that soon blossomed into a strong bond.
They kept their relationship private for several years, even from Mahesh's parents. They dated for five years before getting married but knew it was serious after two years.

Before they got married, Namrata asked if they could live in an apartment first because she wasn't used to big houses, and Mahesh happily agreed, showing how much he cared about her comfort.
