Dear Friends,
I am in need of a few more students for an Advanced Irish Tin Whistle and Flute class, or the class will be cancelled. Whether you are interested in attending, or know others who may be, I would appreciate your help in spreading the word or coming to what looks to be a fairly small class, offering more than the usual degree of individual attention. (Please feel free to forward this message.)
I will be teaching this class in Dublin, Ohio (near Columbus) on two evenings, Wednesday July 30 and Thursday July 31, from 6:30-8:30 each evening. The total cost for the two sessions is $75.00. It is for whistle and flute players who already know their way around the instrument, and want to learn more repertoire, traditional ornamentation, articulation and style. You must be 12 years old or older to attend.
This is part of the Dublin Irish Festival Academy, which leads up the the weekend Dublin Irish Festival August 1-3, one of the biggest Irish festivals in the US.

Other instructors at the Academy will include Kevin Burke (fiddle), John Carty (tenor banjo), Ged Foley (guitar), and Cara Butler (Irish Step Dancing). There are also intermediate level classes in fiddle, bodhrán, and set dancing.
I will be performing a solo set at the festival on Friday, August 1 at 6:00 pm. Other performers of traditional Celtic music will include Patrick Street (Kevin Burke, Andy Irvine, John Carty and Ged Foley), the Tannahill Weavers, The Makem and Spain Brothers, The Clancy Legacy (Robbie O'Connell, Aoife Clancy and Dónal Clancy), The Step Crew, Slide, and Vishten (from Prince Edward Island, Canada), among many others.
It looks to be a great time!
Many thanks, and best wishes to you,
Grey
