Chris and Courtney's wedding journal (original) (raw)

I don't know, but the more we plan, the more thats how it's turning out. Our guys have full on tuxes (with only black pants thanks to my insistance that no one where full on black) our girls have long dresses with bell sleves, and my dress gets a bit more formal with every re-design. It now even has a sweep train, which is something I wasn't planning on, didn't really want a train because I don't want something to bussle, and so sweep is as long as it will possibly get. The flowers have gone from being only daisy clutches to me not having any clue only knowing I want lots of color in the girls and some purple and blue in mine, and looking at fairly formal with the ideas I'm combining.
The only problem, I want a really casual laid back wedding where my guests are comfortable wearing anything from a tux to blue jeans (preferably more of the latter than the formor) and it's at 11:00am, so the formal evening look just doesn't seem to fit.
*shrug*
I like the way everything looks and is turning out. I refuse to stress, I just rearange, adjust, and redo. Some things I refuse to budge on though, and I think thats important, because it is afterall my wedding, and don't care what has to happen, but somethings will happen. My flowers will have daisies, my flowergirls will wear wings and drop feathers, my guests will eat cupcakes that taste amazing and not cake that tastes like cardboard, and I will have buttercream frosting.
really, these things aren't hard to accomplish. :-p

Chris and I are planning on finishing up our last registry this weekend, and the more we look around, especially together, the more our registries seem to change. It looks like the dishes I had previously picked out and we had registered for are comeing down to be replaced with something else. Our william-sonnoma registry might compleatly dissapear to be replaced with a larger selection at Dillards (and a less expensive selection) since the pots and pans I wanted are made for dillards too, at a smaller cost and with some minor changes. The gadgets we can pretty much get either at target or dillards, and really the only thing left then is the knifes and Chris is going to see if his parents will get us cutco (since they buy it) (which is an awesome brand and I would love to have, but it's only sold independantly (like avon or tupperwere) so you can't register for it or I would have to begin with.
So be on the lookout for (possible) huge changes in our registries after this weekend. I guess it's good that all this happens now, and not after half our place settings are bought and Chris turns to me at a shower or something and says "you know, these are really boring I wish we would have gotten those ones with the butterflies on them" (hehe he actually suggested we register for these dishes with butterflies and flowers on them, that didn't thrill me much, and I said I would only on the effect that I would tell all of his friends he picked out the dishes with the butterflies :-p)

This thing is really starting to shape up interestingly... hmmm

Stay tuned for more... differant... stuff
