The Super Hero Taisen Series (スーパーヒーロー大戦シリーズ, Supā Hīrō Taisen Shirīzu, Super Hero War Series) is a group of movies that served as crossovers between Toei Company's superhero productions from 2012 until 2017. In the run-up to the first Super Hero Taisen, producer Shinichiro Shirakura said he would like to make this type of movie the norm for spring films. Since their beginning, the franchise releases a film, at the very most, two weeks after their magical girl counterpart Pretty Cure All Stars.
All movies are written by Shoji Yonemura. For the directors, the first two films and the fifth are directed by Osamu Kaneda, while the third and fourth were directed by Takayuki Shibasaki.
The Spring Vacation Combining Special Series (春休み合体スペシャルシリーズ, Haruyasumi Gattai Supesharu Shirīzu) were a special TV crossover events that air in the spring. They acted as both a special team-up adventure of the current Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series as well as a prequel/sequel/tie-in for an upcoming Super Hero Taisen film.
