TOKYO GAME ACTION! (original) (raw)
As posted in TGA forums!
"TGA has finally moved! / Bemani Festival details changed.
TGA WILL RE-OPEN IN JUNE 2006. I will post the new address upon my return from Japan next month.
THE MOVE.
Yes folks, after one year of no heat, no plumbing, no hot water, no air conditioning, power outages, power shortages and other Catastrophes (not Allen, we like him) TGA has FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY found a new home!! I won't repeat the painful details, heartaches, and disappointments of the year long search to find a new place, but trust me, we pulled this off just in the nick of time. TGA almost closed it's doors forever.
Not only did we find a new place, but our new place is SO AMAZING IT is more that we could have ever dreamed would be possible.
Unfortunately I won't be able to go into any details until the paperwork is finished so I will save my overflowing emotions for when I can go into the exciting details.
My deepest and sincere gratitude goes out to the people who sacrificed their Saturday to come down and move thousands of pounds of equipment for 7 long hours. This new TGA is a reality because of them.
Much love and respect for all of you, you earned it!!
Bemani Festival events changed.
Ok everyone stand by to be outraged
This super, amazing, unbelievable gift from God did not happen without us going through hell. Now that I am officially at liberty do discuss this, I will fill you in on everything that's happened in the past two months.
We all know, that last December I met with Mr. T and Hiro, along with their management company and formed a contract to hold Bemani Festival. Slake hopped on board in January via arrangements by Hiro.
I went back to the US, did all the promotion I was ordered to do by DLO and their managers, then went back to Japan in March per their orders, to finalize the travel arrangements and bring the required proof and registration materials that their management company requested.
When I arrived in Japan, I was told that despite 4 months of work, accomplished by the amazing love and support of you the American fans, DLO changed their minds (mostly at the hand of their manager), and decided not come to the US for the concert. This decision was based upon some unfortunate events in Japan that happened prior to my arrival that had nothing to do with any of us.
Not taking no for an answer, I was then sent to Konami, to override DLO's manager's decision. At time I was thrown in the middle of a huge war and power strugge among DLO, Konami and their management company.
In the middle of this, DLO decided that they had to stick to their manager's decision no matter what Konami, or you their fans wanted and cancelled the concert. They also decided that since they were not going, Slake would not go either (he didn't have much of a choice, he was ordered by Hiro not to come.) Out of respect for them, I will not go into the details and express my outrage, and disgust of what happened behind the scenes. But, the truth of the matter is that the management company pretty much screwed all of us over.
So, what happens from Here?
Konami feeling bad that we got screwed and appreciating all the work we have done for them, is trying to help. We are now in negotiations with Konami to get a replacement act. When, where and how this will happen, is anyone's guess.
We are also in negotiations with a certain Bemani artist to appear and perform outside of official Konami assistance. I don't think anyone will be disappointed if we are able to get this artist to appear.
So, if this wasn't bad enough, TGA then gets flooded, the landlord forces us out, the city rejects our license renewal, which essentially, forces us out of the city.
If you are following where this is going you have realized that Bemani Festival is now:
A) Without DLO and Slake.
B) Is at the new TGA which is now in a location 1 1/2 hours north of Woonsocket.
This means any hotel / lodging / travel arrangements you and I may have made will have to be cancelled. I tried to stress this to the people who were scheduled to appear, and they didn't care.
I already called the hotels and they agreed to cancel the reservations without penalty. Unfortunately, the airlines I have no control over. The good news is that we are now closer to two airports (Manchester New Hampshire and Boston / Logan) so if you play it right, you might be able to save money since you will not be flying to a small offshoot Rhode Island airport.
I cannot apologize enough for having to change locations. I tried EVERYTHING within my power to say in Woonsocket for this event and begged DLO for SIX HOURS TO CHANGE THEIR MINDS. I fought for you
with everything I had, but DLO, under the direction of their manager, still said no. The city also said no, and denied our licenses.
If it makes you feel any better, TGA has lost over 4000inreservationsbecausewearenolongerusingthetheaterwehadbooked.Sotrustme,weareallsufferingbecauseofthis.By"TGAlost4000 in reservations because we are no longer using the theater we had booked. So trust me, we are all suffering because of this. By "TGA lost 4000inreservationsbecausewearenolongerusingthetheaterwehadbooked.Sotrustme,weareallsufferingbecauseofthis.By"TGAlost4000" I mean "Andy lost $4000, and will now be eating out of cans as a result"
Ok, you got the bad news about Bemani Festival, let's hear the good news:
So our original artists have cancelled. Yeah, we all wanted to enjoy and hang out with DLO and Slake, but
what's the real reason we are coming to this thing? For them? No! It's because of each other, THE COMMUNITY. This festival is an event for us.
So the concert aside, here's the other things you can expect at Bemani Festival:
Beatmania IIDX 13 Distorted (I'm looking at the upgrade kit as we speak)
DDR Supernova dedicated cabinet (paid for and scheduled by Betson for priority shipping for you, the Bemani Festival attendees)
Pop'n Music 14 / Fever ( scheduled, not confirmed as of yet)
Taiko no Tatsujin 8 (Another upgrade kit I'm looking at as we speak)
another surprise Brand new music machine for everyone to enjoy
TGA's all new, full service 10 pin, 12 lane Bowling Alley, upon which we will be doing Bemani Cosmic Bowling during the event.
A full service TGA cafe.
So again, if the concert doesn't happen, it will next year. I know some people are disappointed, I am too, but you know what? Let's just hang out, have fun and enjoy each other. WE WILL BE HAVING A 4 day, 50+ hour PARTY, FILLED WITH EVENTS AND MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME! Does it really matter that certain people decided that we were not worthy of their time and performance? We are all supposed to be crushed and just ruin this entire event for everyone?
If you are behind me, and wish to stand up together as a community against the people that screwed us over, hop on board. DON'T LET THE SELFISH ACTIONS OF THE CONCERNED PEOPLE, RUIN THIS FOR ALL OF US. WE DON'T NEED THEM! We are the community, we are the force of Bemani. Let's show them what
they missed and regret the decision to turn their backs on us.
We will be making a new site with all the the details. If you need to know the new permanent address asap, contact
Anthony of TGA or the Bemanistyle administration.
We are not allowed to disclose the address in public until next month. HOWEVER, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE PERSONS TRAVELING, WE WILL POST THE ADDRESS AND MAKE IT AVAILABLE IN PRIVATE. WE WILL THEN BE POSTING AIRPORT AND HOTEL INFORMATION, SO YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR RESERVATIONS NOW.
More details will be following quickly in the next fews days so please stay tuned to Both Bemanistyle and TGA's site for details. So Again, until the new site is up, PLEASE CONTACT Anthony of TGA and the BEMANISTYLE administration FOR DETAILS.
In closing let me say this: We now have our own building, we own it! As in we, I mean all of us, the TGA members. Yes you read that right WE BOUGHT A BUILDING! This is ours forever, no more being shuffled around and controlled. No more being told what to do, and how and when to do it. We have complete freedom!!!
If you don't want to attend, I understand. I apologize again for any inconvenience and disappointment, I will make sure that your disappointment reaches the people who caused it. All I ask is that you think twice before canceling your plans to join us. Anything can happen between now and then, things can change.
I am heading to Japan next week to make more arrangements for the festival.
There is nothing anyone in this event did wrong to warrant this cancelation, everyone here did what they were supposed to do. They showed their support and back the community up. But really? Was your only reason for coming to this thing JUST the concert? This about this: Why do you come to these websites every day, and play these games for hours on end? You do it for the same reasons I do: for the community. To be a part of this wonderful community and meet the great people that comprise it.
Without giving too much away, let's say this. IT'S TIME LIKE THIS THAT WE NEED TO SHOW KONAMI THAT WE ARE STRONG AND A COMMUNITY THAT SUPPORTS EACH OTHER. WE CAN'T BE DISCOURAGED AND BROKEN. IF WE EVER HOPE FOR KONAMI TO GIVE US THE HELP AND OTHER THINGS THEY ARE CONSIDERING GIVING US, WE HAVE TO REMAIN STRONG AND PROVE IT TO THEM. PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP!
This is our test, let's pass it!
I promise, my staff and I will continue to work to make this event better than ever. All I ask for is your patience
and support.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Andrew E McGuire."
"Sure, I need a favor from you too!
As you know TGA is moving next Wednesday, we are going to need as much help as we can doing so. I can't post this news until Tuesday night until it's too late, because our current landlord might monitor our site and cause some headaches for us.
So, if you could inform everyone via the livejournal, AIM, and PM's I would appreciate it.
Thanks!!
Andy"
And there you have it.
So Andy is going to need as much help as possible. If anything you know my contant info for more information. Thank you for your cooperation guys!

Alright, after months of wanting to go to TGA, I have finally been able to plan out when I am able to go. But I can't find the street adress to TGA due to the site being down (guessing Bemanistyle helps host it). And I want to get there before the school year starts up again on the 31st. So any help would be appreciated. And thanks!
