I don't have a russian/english dictonary to translate from and can't leave a comment to ask for a translation, and I don't like that. _3:35 pm_[calieber]	I had a co-worker -- he died last December -- who, after a week or so on the job, decided that the business (which has been around since the 1950s) can't possibly be making any money doing what we do, and we shouldn't be doing it anyway.He was a proofreader, and on top of his more general disagreements, didn't like house style, and refused to use it. If anyone is interested in my ongoing legal battle with Kaiser Permanente, a chronicle it on my lj corphq. Kaiser Permanente sued me because I used my lj to draw attention to a web site they had posted on the Internet for three or four years. The state of California has now fined Kaiser $200,000 for posting the site. Please feel free to Friend me. :-)Ps. _7:13 pm_[beyondthebath]	Conspiracy, or am I just paranoid? I'm a department head where I work, and one of the staffers in my department has been giving me some serious problems with her attendance. I've started documenting everything, and am now going through 'progressive discipline' with her, and my boss (the head of the whole organization) is right along side with me, helping me through this process.She has since confided in someone (and it got bck to me) that she feels as if I am trying to force her out of her job, and that she is 'uncomfortable' around me. But at the same time, she has been overly friendly to me (I mean sacchrine sweet - ICK!), to me, as well as a few of the staff members that she's had conflicts with in the past. (We're all knid of scratching our heads, wondering what she's up to...)Well, she came to me, and told me that she overheard part of a conversation, where 'several' of the other department heads (she wouldn't say who) were watching me (and our department), and that they were talking about going to the head of Human Resources about some supposed bad behavior I had done. When pressed, she wouldn't say anything specific, but that she had only heard parts of the conversation.I asked my boss, the head of the organization, if he had heard anything about me good, bad or otherwise, and explained what this woman told me. He said that he hadn't heard ANYTHING about me lately, and that he would feel around to see if he could get any information about the situation. He did reassure me that anything that happened, he would have to hear about it first, and that he would tell me...but to remember to consider the source. (The woman who supposedly feels uncomfortable around me, and that I'm putting through progressive discipline for her own bad behavior.)So, what do you think - should I be concerned, or is she just putting up the smoke & mirrors? _5:28 pm_[anyamartinez]	Older and wiser? I have this new coworker who is quite a bit older that I am, and did she ever let me know that she knew better than i. She hassled me about the amount of soda pop that I drink. I had approximately 30 ounces of pop. She complained because had to be the med tech, and she had to count narcotics. Although she took the class at the end of last week, and did not even have to give anybody any medicine that night. She fretted when I could not figure out who belonged to a pair of khaki pants that had come back from the laundry. a pair of khakis without a size tag and no name wriiten on them. And blackish smudges scarcely in a line is not writing.She bitched when I chose to eat my lunch, [4:30 am] saying it was my fault she was made hungry. Ya know what i brought? A frozen chicken potpie!She even nagged me for "writing too slowly" while i was writing in the communication book. How do you write too slowly? Current Mood: confused (Comment on this)
_6:51 am_[anyamartinez]	Sunday Night Swimsuit Issues First off, i really need a new swimsuit, as the one i have now is one i got for my '99 Orlando vacation. It was ok for a while, but my breasts kept popping out. I don't know if this was because it did not have underwire cups, but anyway...Sometime last week when i was at work looking at a leftover sunday paper, there was a department store advert, and i mentioned that i was in need of a new bathing suit."YA gotta go TO BEALLS outlet and pick one, YA gonna GET Ripped OFf if you go anywha' else. I Got a one with a lil' skirt on it and it reeaall cute " "I don't like swimsuits with skirts." "YA go Dillards, you pay too much!""I've not yet made it out to Dilliards to shop" "It real cute, mah skirt swimsuit, it got a slit ya know.""I don't like or want a swimsuit with a skirt. I will not buy something i have no intention of wearing.""But it got a slit""So wear whatever the hell you want, but don't expect me to care about your fashion choices!" She did not have much of a reply for that. I can't help but wonder if it's the dialect, because, that is really how she talks, and it can be painful to listen to at times. When i first started i was made fun of because i have the temerity to try and use decent grammar and actual commas. Yeah, I'm bitter. Current Mood: bitchy (Comment on this)
_6:42 am_[anyamartinez]	New Zealand? New What? New Zealand? New what? A couple weeks ago I won an ebay auction forEnz Of An Era. I think it arrived Friday. I was listening to it on the way to work, and as i was running errands, this last weekend.I had my discman set to shuffle, and Bold As Brass was playing. There is a Tim Finn and the Dirty Creatues concerts that is streamed at www.virtueoz.com. I looked at the liner notes to the cd to realise that Bold As Brass is the opening song to that concert.This girl I work with, saw the liner notes to the Split Enz cd and asked who the were and i did alright when i said the Finn brthers were from New Zealand and pointed out some of the members of the band.She then asked me what New Wave was and my mind came up a total blank. I couldn't even think of any other new wave bands. I'm used to meeting up with people frome message boards, livejournaling and playing diplomacy by email, audblog ,and quite a few other things my cowowrkers have never even heard of.
