A qualitative approach was adopted, utilizing an ethnographic research design to explore the intricate connections between communication symbolism and deviant behavior within the Ghanaian cultural context. The researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with three (3) categories of participants: ten (10) deviant individuals, including criminals from Ankaful Prison and community members, eight (8) community members, and four (4) law enforcement officers. A purposive sampling method was employed to ensure participants possessed relevant expertise and firsthand knowledge of communication symbolism in deviant subcultures. The findings indicate that communication through multilingualism serves as an effective symbol of group identity and connection. Furthermore, the complex dynamics surrounding the stigmatization and labeling of language symbolism significantly impact the self-esteem of deviant individuals and their interactions with law enforcement. To effectively identify and understand such communication symbolism within deviant and criminal subcultures, this study suggests that policymakers establish a collaborative task force comprising law enforcement officers, community leaders, and cultural experts.

We adopted a qualitative approach, utilizing ethnographic research design to explore the complex relationship between clothing, symbolism, and deviant behavior in the Ghanaian cultural context. We conducted semi-structured interviews with three categories of participants: 10 deviant or criminal individuals from Nsawam prisons and in the communities through non-participant observation, 8 community members, and 2 law enforcement officers. We employed purposive sampling method to ensure that participants had relevant expertise and firsthand knowledge related to clothing symbolism in deviant subcultures. The study findings mainly revealed that clothes convey identities and codes subtly and is a potent emblem of group connection. The intricate dynamics surrounding the stigmatisation and labelling of clothing symbolism have an impact on people's self-esteem and interaction with law enforcement. To develop guidelines and training programmes for law enforcement officers and community members on concrete methods of identifying and comprehending clothing symbolism within deviant and criminal subcultures, policy makers may form a collaborative task force consisting of law enforcement, community leaders, and cultural experts.

Six (6) out of the 54 college tutors were purposefully recruited for an interview, and 54 college tutors from two (2) institutions of education were chosen for the survey using stratified and simple random sampling procedures. Frequency counts, percentages, and inferential statistics (independent samples test) were used to analyze the data obtained from the self-developed questionnaire (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.78), and themes were identified from the respondents’ responses using thematic analysis. The results from the research revealed that almost half (43%) of the sampled population had some sort of accommodation they were going to retire with, while a majority who did not own any housing property yet said they were making plans to acquire one before they go on retirement or shortly after they go on retirement. The study also found that all participants had some form of healthcare insurance coverage, with the majority subscribing to the public healthcare scheme – the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). The study suggested that to implement financial investment plans for tutors in addition to public pension schemes for a better-secured post-retirement life, teacher unions, employers, and other stakeholders in Ghana should hire the services of professional financial services advisors and investment institutions

The study was conducted using a phenomenological approach, which involve in-depth interviews with a purposive sample of students. The participants were selected based on their involvement in crime prevention education programs and their experiences with crime-related issues. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews, which were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim. The data was analyzed using a thematic analysis approach. This helped identify themes and patterns in the participants’ responses. The study revealed that students who receive crime prevention education are more aware of crime-related issues and have a better understanding of how to prevent them. Moreover, crime prevention education programs portray limited systematic implementation, and in an age-appropriate manner, to ensure that students receive the right knowledge and skills to deal with crime-related issues. It is recommended that educational authorities may prioritize the development of a comprehensive curriculum model that covers a wide range of crime-related topics, including personal safety, community safety, cybercrime, substance abuse, and more to increase students’ knowledge and awareness of crime prevention strategies and their understanding of the legal and ethical implications of criminal behaviours. Also, the school authority may establish partnerships with community organizations, law enforcement agencies, and relevant stakeholders to enhance the implementation of crime prevention programs. This collaboration can provide additional resources, expertise, and support to address challenges effectively.

This study aims to comprehend how victims experience and deal with the impact of cybercrime, as well as their perceptions of the effectiveness of the legal and criminal justice system in addressing cybercrime, through in-depth interviews with 12 digital consumers of agricultural produce associated with cybercrime. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. Data were processed in vivo. Based on the study findings, it was concluded that cybercrime victims endured a variety of emotional, psychological, and financial repercussions. Cybercrime has a profound emotional impact on victims with regard to feeling angry, frustrated, or violated. Victims also suffer significant financial losses, which puts them in anguish and financial difficulty. Furthermore, the study concluded that victims of cybercrime have conflicting views on how well civil and criminal justice systems work to combat it. Although some victims think that the judicial system works well for them, others believe it is slow and ineffective, which makes them feel frustrated and helpless. The study recommends the need for more effective support and assistance for victims of cybercrime with respect to digital consumers of agricultural produce. This study underscores the need for greater awareness of cybercrime, as well as more effective and efficient mechanisms for reporting, investigating, and prosecuting cybercrime.

This paper, thus, offers a review pertaining to the crucial role of the relevant theoretical and conceptual frameworks in comprehending the multifaceted nature of crime, while unraveling the practical and policy response of the human-related phenomenon. By assessing the nature of pertinent frameworks of crime behavior, which this paper commences with, readers can gain a greater appreciation of how they provide structures for crime-related investigations and, more importantly, lenses for the interpretation of crime behavior. Moreover, the paper underscores the interdisciplinary nature of criminology research, showcasing how these frameworks draw from sociology, psychology, economics and law, to construct a holistic understanding of criminal behavior. Challenges and limitations in constructing these frameworks are acknowledged, including bias, ethical considerations, and the evolving landscape of the field. Accordingly, real-world case studies, historical examples, and visual aids are employed to illustrate the practical application of these frameworks, enhancing their potency in knowledge acquisition and in facilitating understanding. By analyzing theoretical perspectives, and structured frameworks of criminal behavior, the paper equally, pinpoints the corresponding policy implications of the phenomenon whose intricate landscape, according to the paper, have been and must continue to be navigated. These tools have been found to illuminate the motivations, societal pressures, and psychological mechanisms, that drives individuals towards or away from criminal acts.

An expressive survey research design was used in the study to gather data from 96 married tutors, utilising structured questionnaires and simple random selection. The study’s goals were to identify the variables that affect tutors’ marital satisfaction, the gender differences in tutors’ emotional intelligence, and the relationship between emotional intelligence and tutors’ marital contentment. Means, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, and Pearson’s correlation, among others, were used to evaluate the data. The primary finding of the study revealed that demographic specifications, such as gender, ethnicity and religion, are not linked with marital satisfaction, while age, education and income are associated with marital satisfaction. Generally, this study sheds light on the relationship between emotional intelligence and marital gratification of tutors within the colleges of education at Ada and in Accra. The findings, in fact, could be helpful for educators, and other stakeholders, in enhancing the emotional intelligence and marital gratification of tutors, which could, in turn, contribute to improved academic outcomes and overall job performance.

The study looked into the connections between students’ academicachievement, locus of control, and self-esteem at selected colleges in Greater Ada andAccra in Ghana, West Africa. Based on reviews of the literature on theories related tothe variables of interest as well as employing a correlational research design, ques-tionnaires were administered to 400 randomly sampled students from the Ada andAccra Colleges of Education. The examination of responses demonstrated a weakadverse correlation between academic performance and self-esteem as well as a weakto moderately strong negative correlation between locus of control and academicperformance. The results indicate that there are significant associations between stu-dent self-esteem, student locus of control, and student academic routine. The study’sfindings, which advise that students with greater levels of self-esteem may performworse academically than those with lower levels, show a fairly weak negative associ-ation between student self-esteem and academic routine. The outcome highlights theneed for policymakers to adopt treatments that focus on these features to enhanceacademic achievement and encourage students’ healthy psychological development.Further use of this knowledge can be applied by educators and counselors to createinitiatives and plans for raising kids’ self-worth and internal locus of control.

These tools have been found to illuminate the motivations, societal pressures, and psychological mechanisms, that drives individuals towards or away from criminal acts.

integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into their instructing
and learning activities and to recommend possible strategies for addressing those
challenges. This study employed an interpretive paradigm and a qualitative method
approach to analyze the challenges basic school teachers face when integrating ICT
into teaching in an emerging country, particularly Ghana. The participants of this
study were chosen using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. A total of
twenty (20) respondents were chosen for this study. The study found that teachers,
despite their challenges, had a strong desire to integrate ICT into their instruction and
learning activities. These challenges are the limited number of ICT tools and the
absence of fully-subscribed software package that runs on them, the lack of electrical
outlets in some classrooms, poor internet connectivity and power fluctuation. These
teachers also had to deal with challenges like Trojan horses and spam despite the
slow internet connectivity. The study suggested that basic school management should
procure modern ICT tools and fully-subscribed software package to expand the
school’s ICT infrastructure giving teachers the choice to choose the ICT tools they will
integrate into their teaching and learning activities for the successful integration of
ICT into instruction and learning activities. Again, school management should ensure
teachers are given basic training regarding ICT and its incorporation into tuition and
learning activities to acquire the necessary competencies, understanding, and attitudes that will enhance teaching and learning activities.

Service at the National Police Training School, Accra and the Winneba Police
Command and Staff College, Winneba. It examines the curriculum, scope of
training and pedagogical practices employed by police trainers in Ghana, how
well the trainees apply their training to Police work, the challenges the training
academies face and feasible measures to address these challenges.
Methodologically, the study employed the mixed methods by using both
quantitative and qualitative approaches in getting the relevant data to satisfy
the purpose and objectives of the current study. Sampling methods used were
purposive and simple random sampling methods. In-depth interviews were
also conducted to elicit qualitative data. The study revealed that police
curriculum is categorized under Police Science, Legal Studies, Social Science,
Communication Skills and Information Technology and Basic Officer Skills.
In addition, it has been deduced that Senior High School Certificate holders
are mostly recruited as trainees in the Ghana Police Service with six (6)
months basic training with English Language as the medium of instruction.
Classroom instruction was the popular method of teaching. The study
concluded that the police apply their training to police work professionally by
being proactive in fighting crime. The study, however, found out that police
training academies in Ghana lack proper equipment, logistics and training
materials. In view of this, it is recommended that the government, in
collaboration with other stakeholders in the Police Service, must help to
provide good training facilities, infrastructure and funds to support quality
training delivery.

A sample size of 306 was selected from a population of 994.Stratified and simple random sampling procedures were employed to select the subjects in the study sample. Respondents to the questionnaire and interview were randomly selected. A pilot study was conducted in the Eastern Region to test the validity and reliably of the instrument. The Cronbach alpha coefficient reliability at 0.7 was recorded. The data generated was processed and converted into percentages to facilitate the analysis and discussion processes. The results indicated that the introduction of the CSSPS did not significantly increase enrolment in the least endowed schools; neither did it minimize the preference for endowed schools. However, the CSSPS significantly minimized the human errors that characterized the manual system and accelerated the rate of selection and placement process. The major challenge to the CSSPS was the human factor in terms of refusal of parents and students to accept placement into other schools apart from their chosen endowed schools. It is recommended that the CSSPS should be used in combination with other placement systems such as the Random Placement Systems to achieve a mixed talent distribution of students across the schools in the study area.
