_3:00 pm_[cypherindigo] Celebrate Bisexuality Day! Subject: Transcending Boundaries Inc. wishes you a happy Celebrate Bisexuality Day!Members of the bisexual and pansexual community face discrimination and marginalization from both straight and gay communities. If you identify as bisexual, you have undoubtedly heard that you have to choose, that there are no real bisexuals or that you are not "queer enough." You may have been taken to task for hiding under heterosexual privilege with opposite sex partners. You may have been mistaken for gay or lesbian when out with same sex partners. You may have felt like your identity is invisible.Started in 1999 by bisexual activists, Celebrate Bisexuality Day exists to give members of the bisexual and pansexual community a chance to celebrate who they are on their own terms. Its founders recognized that respect from the community at large is a RESULT of self-respect. Celebrating one's identity without shame is an important step toward wider acceptance.Transcending Boundaries Inc. is committed to increasing visibility and acceptance of bisexual and pansexual people in the greater community. Our annual conference includes several prominent bisexual activists and leaders.
