Tbilisi is a vibrating city with many beautiful places to explore. We really liked the old town, but went to see the less frequent neighbourhoods as well where we also felt safe and comfortable. People are usually nice, and we had several good expreience with transportation (quick answers to our emails, helpful people at public transport etc). Public transport was clean and easy to use. We used marshrutka to travel to Gori, and it was quite easy and safe to do that. To travel to Kutaisi Airport we used Georgian bus, it was easy to book tickets and the bus arrived in time to the Airport. Food was delicious there, even as a vegetarian I was always able to find nice and tasty options. Nature was unbelievably beutiful around us, but unfortunately we hadn’t had enough time to explore the mountens of Georgia, so it is on our bucket list now. The only place where I felt a little bit uncomfortable was the train station, but we arrived at 1:00 AM with a train from Yerevan and that time the station was very empty, so we have caught a taxi quickly (I should add that I’m not a brave person overall, so this can influence my experience). We went back to see the station at daylight and we had a very different experience with it that time.

Family travel

Well, the city is really safe, but here's a lot of homeless people who are asking for money. But views are gorgeous everywhere in tbilisi. Also, if you have some health problems or you are not used to walking, be careful as there're hills everywhere, and it was kinda hard to walk, especially in summer when it's 35° outside

I felt safe in Tbilisi, even when being out late alone at night. I had my wits about me. There are many young people out at night, like 11 PM, even on public transportation. The khinkali is delicious, and food is cheaper than in many western countries.

Safety-wise walking in the city I felt safer than at home. In the city, even at 2-3 am. But that's because I look similar to a Georgian girl. African and Indian girls told me that they were harassed by local men. I would definitely recommend watching traditional Georgian dancing, polyphonic singing and walking in the old town. The museum of Soviet occupation is expensive but very interesting. If you're vegan- Kiwi cafe is best value for price and Shpana cafe is great for different choices of food. In comparison to western countries taxis are cheap here. But download Bolt or Yandex taxi. Métro is old and Soviet but very fast :).

Overall, it was a safe city. Easy to explore by foot and bolt, bolts are very cheap. Restaurants and souvenirs are bit expensive in the touristic areas. For a tasty and good price meal, try to find a local restaurant. The old city is very nice, Cable car (teleferik) and the botanical garden are a must visit!.

Tbilisi is a beautiful city, boasting exceptional cafes, landscapes, and nightlife. I feel safe here; however, you should be cautious of a certain crowd, specifically pickpockets. The local cuisine is amazing, particularly the Georgian foods such as Khinkali and Kachapuri. As a student who has been studying here for the past five years and renting an apartment, I have visited most places in Georgia.

Tblisi made me feel safe. All i recommend you is, taste all traditional food. You won't regret it. Also, the old town is really small to drive or using public transport. You can walk to anywhere you want.

Maybe because I was there with my bf, I felt very safe, even considering we walked around the city late at night. The city’s very young, vibrant, dynamic, it has some Berlin vibes (but with better food choices haha) We ate a lot, despite being a bit heavy and greasy, the food was amazing (both at fancy restaurants and some no name cafes along the road) We rented an airbnb apartment, despite being small, it had everything we needed. Especially considering that we went there only to sleep and take a shower. Link: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/50358406?source\_impression\_id=p3\_1701523183\_4m5mRxtA3St3Y4%2BE

Is Tbilisi safe for women?

Safety rating

Crime rates rating

I would say that Tbilisi is generally safe city to walk around at night, the streets are well-lit and police cars patrol every now and then. Of course, you should always be careful not to walk in the outskirts and not well-lit areas during the night, as there's higher risk of getting robbed or beaten. Transportation is very safe, but please be careful in the taxies - sometimes the drivers really make you super uncomfortable. Other than these, just take basic precautions when visiting Tbilisi and take care of yourself.

Tbilisi is a pretty safe city to live in and to visit. Compared to other big European cities there’s less theft and pickpockets for example. it is pretty safe as well for solo female travelers, you might just experience flirting from random men but they’re never insistent and you can just ignore them. Overall it’s a pretty safe place.

I stayed near Freedom Square in Tbilisi. There are lots of things to do in Tbilisi such as attending concerts, vintage shopping, museums, bars, food, and wine (an absolute must for Georgia)! If you are in the mood to explore the countryside, there are also many historic sites and wineries to see within a few hours drive of the city.

Stay with locals in Tbilisi

Stay with local women in

Tbilisi

who offer free accommodation as part of cultural exchange.

Hospitality exchange is a great way to meet new people, learn more about new cultures and experience destinations like a local.
