| | Saturday, February 15th, 2014 2:52 pm - Help with beta? pere_chan I am wondering if someone would like to beta a fic I am writing detailing Jim's adventures at Stellar Academy. Featuring: a bunch of worldbuilding, alien races, British Naval training translated into a sort of steampunk-in-space scenario, and of course pirates...eventually. The caveat is that there will be a LOT of original characters. Jim unfortunately doesn't think of himself as anything much, so he needs to be shown off through the lens of people who meet him and think he's amazing, like Doppler and Silver. This is part of OTW's GeoCities Rescue Project. GeoCities hosted many fan sites, but closed back in 2009.There is TP fan fic and fan art in the "Oki Doki: The Old Benbow" GeoCities archive. TP was originally released on Wednesday, November 27, 2002. Feel free to share your first experience seeing the film! If you kept your movie ticket stubs, scan them and show us!_Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt (voice of Jim Hawkins) at the premiere of TP at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood._Disney has released a new Blu-Ray edition of TP to commemorate the film's anniversary. The only thing that is really "new" to this Blu-Ray release are some bridging sequences shot with Laurie Metcalt back in 2002 when the DVD release was originally going to be a deluxe 2-disk set, but TP looks absolutely beautiful on Blu-Ray, so it's a must-own for TP fans.Larger image of the original TP movie poster after the cut! O___oAnywhoo, I was thinking for the 10th anniversary, all the TP fans should get together on the internet (or you know, the majority of the fans lol)... maybe on a livestream. Livestreams are fun ^_^And we can have like an online party or something for that whole weekend :D Maybe we can even spread the word about having some sort of re-release.We even have an official name now. We're known as 'Star Rattlers' (I didn't make it up though, just putting that out there!) It was a name made up on Tumblr, just thought I'd put it here to see what you all think of it... if there's anyone still here :oBut yeah, I just really wanna do something special for Treasure Planet this year. After 10 years, it still needs a whole lot of love.
