"Part III ('Classics in Space') opens with a chapter by George Kovacs that boldly explores Greek myth in several episodes of Start Trek (1966-69), examining in particular a repeated link between longevity/immortality and emotional or moral immaturity. Kovacs argues that this establishes a continuity between the viewer's past and present and TOS's humanistic, utopic future, authorizing allegorical and didactic readings of the show."
