Title: Medicine
Summary: The medicine tasted foul.
The medicine tasted foul. It always did. And it did not seem as if it was helping him past this weakness at all. A weakness that none in his family has ever seen in its long and noble history.
But his beloved baby sister was the one who had brought it to him. And she kept telling him that he looked healthier. That she was sure that if he just kept taking the medicine, it wouldn’t be that long before he was lifting the bed for exercise instead of feeling trapped between the covers.
His stomach cramped almost as soon as the medicine hit it, but he was used to it by now. Everything he tried to eat or drink sat uneasy, but this heavy, thick medicine was worst of all.
This time, it was much, much worse. Cramps tore at him, and he lost control enough to make a thin, pained noise. As his vision blurred, he reached out for his sister, whispering her name.
Only to have her step away.
And then change.
And it wasn’t his sister after all, but a slim boyish figure, one who seemed so very familiar.
And that was the image he took into the nothingness.

Envy looked down as Pride readied the stones. “So why did you decide to make him again?”
With a shrug, Pride carefully gave the mewling creature that was laying in the array a stone, keeping a watchful eye on its hands. Giving how large and strong the man had been in life, Envy couldn’t really blame him.
“Lust liked his sparkles. Speaking of which,” Pride paused as the first trembles began to shake the man. Rising, he stepped back. There was no way any of them were going to attempt to restrain the giant of a man as his flesh crept and crawled into that which was homunculus. “What do you want to call him Lust?”
The dark haired homunculus shrugged for a moment. Then a slow smile crossed his face. “Envy, didn’t you say he was calling for someone who wasn’t there when he died?”
Envy nodded, wondering where Lust’s mind was going.
“Delusion. Let’s call him Delusion.”
Pride nodded, then he crouched next to the now still form. Violet eyes met violet eyes as he studied their new addition. “Did you hear that? You are now Delusion. Understand?”
Instead of actually speaking, the man sparkled. Envy twitched, and was briefly amused to see that Pride had a faintly horrified expression on his face. The eldest homunculus was positive that he heard his brother muttering about how the evil sparkles had survived.
Not that Envy didn’t feel some little, remote, almost nonexistent empathy for Delusion. After all, they had died in such similar ways. Poisoning was never nice. Fun to do, but never nice to die from.
Though those sparkles were more than a little freaky.
