In the smart city, smart accessible infrastructure creates an inclusive environment for people with disabilities, in which they can integrate into the community and enjoy their civil, cultural, political, social and economic rights and entitlements. The aim of this study is to integrate disabled people into society so that they can actively participate in society and lead to a normal life. An integrated approach is needed to ensure that people with disabilities are not left alone. A combination of mainstreaming and targeted action is required for all interventions. People with disabilities have the same basic needs as everyone else: health protection and treatment, basic services, housing and income. Targeted intervention measures need to complement disability mainstreaming by addressing specific needs identified by general responses, including such interventions need not add materially to the overall cost, especially if the requirements of the maximum number of users are considered in the initial planning. This paper recommends how we can use an appropriate design checklist as a guide for our initial architectural concept and smart city planning to facilities reasonably accessible for people with disabilities in private and public buildings, making our cities smarter and more inclusive and helping to improve the quality of life for all people, especially people with disabilities.

The city holds special significance for all three monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Palestinian residents of Jerusalem lack access to adequate water and sanitation infrastructure and services primarily due to the Jerusalem Municipality's strict housing and urban planning regime which places strict criteria for entitlement of these services. The study uses a qualitative approach in order to provide a deeper understanding of living and housing conditions in the refugee of Shuafat. The vulnerable and miserable situation in the camps has badly affected the innocent refugees. In case there is an international support for upgrading through proper donation, the main living and housing condition in the Shuafat refugees’ ...

These environmental problems are caused by the increasing pollution in the world, increasing production and consumption of material goods. These problems have serious consequences for human health and also have a major impact on natural ecosystems. This paper discussed sustainable green building in terms of key principles for sustainable building, strategies and guidelines for sustainable green building, and steps for an integrated approach to green design. The study also looked at the status of green building and sustainability, as well as green building materials in Palestine. The study suggested a checklist to help assess the condition of buildings in Palestine and the extent to which they respond to the principles of sustainable green buildings, thus, contributing to help new and existing buildings to adopt a sustainable green building approach, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable green construction in ter...

Since the beginning of the last century, and as other Palestinian areas, Gaza Strip was subject to direct occupation. Persons with disabilities share the same primary needs as everyone else: health protection and treatment, basic services, shelter and income. The best way to address their inclusion is through mainstreaming disability in all plans and efforts. Targeted measures need to complement disability mainstreaming by addressing specific requirements that cannot be met by making general responses inclusive. Such measures do not need to add greatly to overall cost especially if the needs of the maximum number of users are considered in the initial design. As mentioned in the world bank publication 2005 that if they are considered from the design stage, ensuring accessibility can cost as little as 1% more. This paper is came to recommendation how can we consider appropriate design checklist as guide for our initial...

Their plight, created in 1948, endures to this day as their children, grandchildren and subsequent generations are yet living in refuge. When one speaks of the problem many aspects come to mind including psychological, social, economic, existential, humanitarian, and political ones. All these, in addition to the political environment refugees reside in, have had a significant impact on the status of Palestinians. The home has big importance for the Arab family, especially in Palestine, where the public space still presents so many occasions of danger and insecurity. To deprive the human being from his right of sufficient housing is a crime. To achieve an adequate housing supply for everybody in Palestine you will find constraints which are familiar to many developing countries: absence of political stability and security, of legal and financial framework; deteriorating economic conditions, high unemployment and poverty rate on the one side, shortage of land, high land prices and high constructing and material costs on the other side; derelict housing quarters, insufficient and unhealthy technical services, insufficient social infrastructure; high density and no space for the individual. This book was one of the important literatures in the Istanbul conference in 2001, UN Habitat and for many researcher institutes. Desire of many researchers in the affairs of the camps in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, especially MBA students Palestinian universities have been reprinting of the importance of this book being the words of a complete study of all the camps in the West bank , Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip According to the desire of many researchers in the refugees camps affairs in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, in additions to the desire of many students in the Master programm of Architecture and Planning especially in the Palestinian universities new revised version was published .

Finally the researcher is trying to define the criteria that suit the local Palestinian community, and the extent to which UNRWA camps upgrading complying with these criteria. The research ends with a number of recommendations to improve the status of these projects and to develop proper standards for camp development projects in the future.

Past experience has shown that people who have prepared themselves ahead of time, and know how to cope with emergencies, manage to behave appropriately and can save themselves and their family members in an emergency. In countries suffered from conflicts such as Palestine, it becomes clear that an additional factor has accelerated the deterioration process; political and security conditions. These have created an atmosphere of fear and despair which has negative impacts on the built heritage. The Gaza Strip has passed through many political conflicts over the past 65years; this affected the building process, causing chaos in architectural planning and development. During the occupation period, the main concern of so many people has been to build a shelter in a very economical way regardless the form, shape, or style. The implementation of the developed approach on different building...
