With Greasy Tony's closed down, where is the best place to go in Tucson for a sandwich?
Cheesesteaks or other kinds of sandwiches.
Thanks!

Bisonwitches, duh.
If you want a cheesesteak, my fiance is a huge fan of Daglio's on Pantano & Broadway.
They also have DELICIOUS (and not very expensive!) sandwiches at Olive Or Twist on Speedway, one of my favorite places. :)

Oh, I didn't know Greasy Tony's has closed. Perhaps because its founder died last month.
How about Frankie's Cheesesteaks? I think it's a great place.

I heard good things about Frankie's Cheesesteaks on campbell, although I've never been. I'll second Bisonwitches for sandwiches, and add Bumsted's! get a side of sweet potato fries (and go play bingo on wednesdays!)

As someone who spent the first 20 years of her life in Philadelphia, PA (and thus seems to have a higher standard for Cheesesteaks..) I have to second the Frankie's/Daglio's suggestions.
Frankie's and Daglios both import a lot of their ingredients FROM Philly, and lots of other food and drink stuff too. I know for a fact, also, that Daglio's has begun bringing in Tastykakes, and those are heaven....such heaven...
Erhm. anyway, yeah. I don't go anywhere else for my cheesesteaks because nowhere else in Tucson MAKES real cheesesteaks.
Take that as you will.

Daglio's finally has Tastykakes? I was so disappointed when I went there back when they were on Campbell and they didn't have them!
