Concepts like Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Industry 4.0, Smart Production, Smart Homes or Smart Cities are based on linking systems to an online network. The online data access provides potential to optimize processes and cost reductions, but also expose sensible data to a risk for inappropriate use. Fake news in social media is another example for problems with untrustable online data. Data security and trust in data is thus a major concern today. The speed in digitalization makes it even a greater challenge for future research. This paper therefore deals with a concept to evaluate the trust in data. Specifically, it is about the trust assessment in e-commerce data of businesses in the industry domain. Research in Industrial Product Service Systems (IPSS)-a marketable set of products and services-focuses on all aspects of IPSS and supports the conversion of industrial countries towards a service society. This fundamental change in paradigm sometimes described as the 'servizitation of manufacturing' could be seen as survival strategy against low labor costs within a global market. However, industrial procurement perceives IPSS as more difficult to assess than product offers. Buying departments are challenged to compare values of different IPSS on an international market. Information asymmetry between expert seller and consumer, hidden information or outcome uncertainties are some of the reasons, that buyers perceive risks at IPSS purchasing. The complexity of working systems that support nowadays purchasing environments increased. Until now, no standardized systems such as e-markets are suitable to support buyers to find and compare available IPSS. This paper describes design guidelines for a system that supports the search, discovery and comparison of IPSS.

This paper describes an approach to account the full costs of a service considering costs at the provider side as well as on the customer side resulting in a more accurate cost model. Depending on the level of integration of provider and customer, explicit modeling of uncertainty is used to reflect the uncertainty about customer's competences. This model may help to improve the efficiency of services and whole service systems. We evaluate the model in a scenario derived from an industrial application.

Service systems consider the co-creation of values in a process between provider and consumer wit... more Service systems consider the co-creation of values in a process between provider and consumer with a win-win situation for both. Service-Dominant Logic demands a new view on economic activities where competences of provider and consumer are the most important resource for value creation. Given these assumptions, we investigate whether costs in a service system shall be accounted in a different way to reflect the change in view. If service provision is seen as a process, activity-based cost models seem to be appropriate. We argue that an extension is necessary, because a service is co-created by resources of service provider and consumer. Furthermore, activities performed by the consumer are not under control and therefore additional uncertainty has to be considered. Our research question is whether we are able to compute service costs with a higher degree of accuracy than with traditional cost models.

However, industrial e-marketplaces for product-services that are accepted by buying experts are rare. Possible buyer benefits of e-markets such as access to a wider range of markets, accumulation of required information, and increase of market transparency cannot be utilized. Currently, product-services are at best traded within closed silos that offer mainly manual search and comparison capabilities through a web storefront. A lack of existing "generic" industry-sector-specific concepts for service description is a main problem that the potential of e-commerce is not utilized for product-services. This article analyzes the requirements for service representation at emarkets regarding the manufacturing domain. State-of-the-art concepts of business service description are considered at the beginning of this research. Because of the heterogeneity of product-services, a case study was conducted in order to identify relevant product-services in the manufacturing domain. In order to study a real case scenario, a "first-tier supplier" in the automotive industry was used in this research study. This company is specialized in systems engineering and systems serial assembly. Typical product-services of this company source are manufactured products needed for serial production, for example, casting, milling, turning, or injecting molding parts, alongside a wide range of services. Investigating the professional purchasing department was necessary to analyze the requirements in service description throughout the complete buying process, commencing with the conceptual product design stage until the serial product delivery.

Due to different reasons knowledge gained in projects is not documented and shared in an appropriate manner resulting in the problem that critical knowledge is lost. We propose case-based storage of relevant knowledge and an appropriate reasoning about this knowledge to support organizations in new projects. In order to achieve this objective, we have analyzed which kind of critical knowledge is gained in projects or other way round, which missing knowledge results in the failing of projects. A case is a pre-defined knowledge structure filled out by potentially different stakeholders of the project. After the first planning of a new project, if the project characteristics are entered, case-based reasoning is used to find similar old projects and derive from them additional attributes and to make potential risks visible. This is useful to better estimate the effort of a project, the required human competences and the required communication between stakeholders. This knowledge transfer can support also other phases of a project such as scheduling activities. In a closing phase, individual problems solved in the project can be documented as a kind of lessons-learned attempt.

The system is based on a fine-grained representation of skills and a competence ontology. The system supports students in planning their courses by performing a gap analysis and by producing competency profiles for job applications. The representation of profiles is based on HR-XML in order to enable an exchange of data. Referenced competencies are defined in an ontology and the presence or strength of a competency can be testified by evidences. One possible evidence described in the paper is an explicit measurement. If owners (the students) enable the access to a profile, recruitment and other companies may use these profiles to find appropriate candidates for job vacancies. Due to the sensibility of stored data we use an encrypted XML data store.

A paradigm shift from document centric filebased interchange of business information to process-centric and finally, a service-based information exchange can be observed. On a business level, a lot of work has been done to capture business models and collaborative business processes of an enterprise; further initiatives address the identification of customer services and the formalization of business service level agreements. On a technical level, the focus in software development is moving towards service-oriented architectures (SOA). These developments on both levels promise more flexibility, a market entry at lower costs and an easier IT-alignment to changing market conditions. Hence, an overwhelming quantity of specifications and approaches emerged in the past targeting the area of B2B -these approaches are partly competing and overlapping. In this paper, we provide a survey of the most promising ones at both levels and classify them using the Open-edi reference model standardized by ISO. Furthermore, we discuss how individual specifications on different levels may fit together -starting from business models via business processes to artifacts ready for deployment. Whereas on the technical level, service-oriented architecture is becoming the predominant approach, on the business level the landscape is more heterogenuous. In this context, we propose to integrate business modeling with process modeling in order to make the transformation from business services to Web services more transparent.
