'Doctor Who,' Archie Panjabi to Play Villain in Season 15 Disney Plus (original) (raw)

A Good Wife alum is going bad on Doctor Who next season.

Emmy winner Archie Panjabi will play a villain on the Disney+ sci-fi series when it returns next year, according to our sister site Deadline. No further details on her character are available at this time. (TVLine has reached out to Disney+ and the BBC for confirmation.)

Panjabi will join a cast led by Ncuti Gatwa, who debuted as the Fifteenth Doctor last season, with Millie Gibson as companion Ruby Sunday and _Andor’_s Varada Sethu joining next season as a new companion. Gatwa and Gibson will team up with Bridgerton standout Nicola Coughlan for _Doctor Who’_s next holiday special, titled “Joy to the World” and premiering on Disney+ on Christmas Day.

Panjabi is best known for playing investigator Kalinda Sharma on CBS’ The Good Wife, a role that earned her three Emmy nominations for best supporting actress in a drama, with a win in 2010. She recently starred opposite Idris Elba in the Apple TV+ airline thriller Hijack. Her other TV credits include Departure, Blindspot, Snowpiercer and Under the Bridge.
