Feminism examines the factors that contribute to female oppression. Women’s oppression in Afghanistan is described in this report. The system of masculine oppression of women is termed as patriarchy. Patriarchy is the oppressive structure, according to this understanding. Patriarchy is a phrase that refers to a societal structure and practises in which men dominate, oppress, and exploit women. As a political framework, patriarchy tries to dominate and oppress women, limiting their ability to make decisions about their sexuality, childrearing, mothering, loving, and labouring. This research examines the subjugation of women in Afghanistan during the Taliban regime. Through this study, we can sense the struggle of women in facing the society and to live the day today life.

Amitav Ghosh is a postmodernist writer. He is immensely influenced by the political and cultural ... more Amitav Ghosh is a postmodernist writer. He is immensely influenced by the political and cultural milieu of post-independent India. Being a social anthropologist and having the opportunity of visiting alien lands, he comments on the present scenario, the world is passing through in his novels. Almost all the works of Amitav Ghosh reflected the theme of borders and boundaries among nations. The Shadow Lines is a highly innovative, complex and celebrated novel of Amitav Ghosh, published in 1988. The Shadow Lines is the novel deal exclusively with the consequences of the Partition and mainly concerned with the Partition on the Bengal border. It is important to note that Ghosh happens to be the only major Indian-English novelist who is preoccupied with the Bengal Partition. There was a collective expression of grief, a demonstration of all religions in which Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus alike to took part. In January 1964 Mu-I-Mubarak was recovered and the city of Srinagar erupted with joy. But soon after the recovery, riots broke out in Khulna and a few people were killed.

It is movement to obtain self-respect and dignity. Chitra Banerjee in her selected novels like Arrange Marriage, Sister of My Heart, The Mistress of Spices, Queen of Dreams and The Vine of Desirehas renovated marginal women into new icons of independence and substantiate that women are proficient of restructuring the community. She proposes two advantages of Women's Liberation. First, she allows them to realise their potential as individuals in their society. Second, she asserts that it is the only way by which they could achieve personal recognition and identity. Hence she prefers to identify herself as a 'womanist' writer and her writings are assessments of the female identity in India and in America.

Chaudhuri is a versatile writer of contemporary Indian English Literature. He is a poet, novelist, essayist and literary critic. He is involved in Indian classical music and songs. His works reflect the Indian values and Bengali sensibility, simplicity and distinctiveness of language which speak to the reader and pave a ground for them to move forward. His novel is a repetitive remembrance of everyday life. Chaudhuri's novel is all about relations between parents and children and the tale of Jayojit, the protagonist, who is a third-world cosmopolitan working in America as a successful author, economist, and university Professor. Chaudhuri's controlled writing, which is very lyrical, firmly places him in the frontline of contemporary Indian Writing in English. That is to say, Bengali ethos and Indian values are main concern in the writings of Amit Chaudhuri who has a great concern for Indian values and Bengali sensibility.

Ghosh is the leading contemporary Indian novelists in Indian Writing in English and whose sphere ... more Ghosh is the leading contemporary Indian novelists in Indian Writing in English and whose sphere of pursuits is very wide. He has made his mark in both fiction and non-fiction but is best known for his novels. The anthology includes critical papers and celebrated scholar of the respective field on the diverse aspects of Ghosh"s novels. The Circle of reason is one of the finest books that critically assess almost all aspects of Ghosh. This anthology of scholarly and contemplated articles is not all about his novels. The Circle of Reason is Claire Chamber which suggests the philosophies of reason. Science and technology are also associated with these philosophies. It deals with the unsettled life of its protagonist, Alu, who is an orphan enlisted by his foster father-Balaram as a soldier in his crusade against the forces of myth and reason. Life of Pasteur provides them with much needed stimulus while they are living at Lalpukur, a small border village in Bengal. Harassment of the weak oppressed is a universal phenomenon. The subtlest but nonetheless the dangerously damaging form persecution is Human Harassment. Human Harassment can be defined as the use of abusive or derogatory comments or remarks (epithets), usage of comments or words based on race, gender, caste, nationality, religion, creed, region or affiliation. Often these are covered or masked with suggestions, jokes, remarks, passing comments, etc, designed to cause the victim great discomfort.Human Harassment includes criticizing, accusing, blaming, backbiting, bullying, brainwashing, criticizing, shaming, raging, silent treatment, thought policing, telling and more. Grumman observed that language provides a rich vocabulary for inflicting harm on others by attacking or questioning another person"s character, dignity and integrity, or for provocative acts such as annoying, (Sexual) harassment, mobbing and bossing. The novels of Amitav Ghosh are vignette of Human Harassment. They give a realistic picture of how these different words insidiously insert themselves into human relationships at home, at workplace, in everyday social contacts and public gatherings. Ghosh through his novels has emphasized that communication is not mere exchange of information or ideas but it is exchange of feelings and sentiments. It is a conversation not through the sense but through hearts. When hurtful words are used they pierce like sharp arrows into the very soul of being. Circle of Reason revolves around Nachiketa. He loses his parents in a car accident. He does not know about his uncle Balaram and aunt Toru debi earlier but they show love. They take care of him as their own son. Balaram and his brother had been long estranged. He has an extraordinary head which is several times large for eight years old boy.Public are teasing his head which is looking differently. Bolaida utters, his head is not similar to rock, and it is an Alu, a huge fleshly and lumpy potato. From that day onwards he is named as Alu which became a name throughout his life, but Nachiketa Bose is a typical Bengali name. Balaram"s chronological studies of Alu"s physical appearance confirm his surmise. His intuition was proved in every detail; Alu"s body, his mind, his legs, his arms, not to speak of the organ, correspond ended exactly to his great joy. Alu is apprenticed to Shombhu Debnath who is a lowly man in Lalpukur, yet Alu does the same work as he is passionate about weaving. He weaves tons and tons of cloth through his skillful weaving. But unfortunately the over use of his thumb turns it atrophied, Kulfi, his shipmate, holds up the hand of Alu for everyone to see. She scornfully states, look, you are looking at the most useless thing in the world a weaver without thumbs. She pulls his hand back and slaps his face with it. "Hold them up in front of you. They remind that you can never do anything again. Later when Zindi request Kulfi to pose as Alu"s wife for the security of the group, she continues her contemptuous remark, "Married to him … Married to that thumb less half-wit? It"s no use, she won"t believe it. Not when she sees him and his withered" (385). These insulting of Kulfi naturally make Alu carry his shrunken thumbs with shame and disgust. Such deceitful expressions drive him to feel as if he had lost his very manhood. Kind and consoling words help a person to overlook even his physical disability but the ravaging remark of Kulfi have inflicted more pain and made him be rigid than the withered thumbs of Alu. Bhubed Roy has thus set in motion Alu"s flight from northern India. The young man is relentlessly pursued by Jyoti Das in a pointless misidentification of "the bad guy". The first stage of his quest for identity has seen him as an observer of passions of various kinds. Indian writing in English like all other new literatures of the world in English has been the out... more Indian writing in English like all other new literatures of the world in English has been the outcome of national ferment and upsurge, which manifested itself as much in the socio-political life of the country. Of all the Indian writers who have used Gandhi for their creative purposes, Chaman Nahal is the most significant. His The Gandhi Quartet is a landmark in the annals of Indian English fiction which consists of the novels like The Crown and the Loincloth, The Salt of Life, The Triumph of the Tricolour and Azadi. The Gandhi Quartet successfully reconstructs the three stages of India's struggle for freedomthe non-cooperation movement, the civil disobedience movement and the Quit India movement of 1942. It also gives a moving account of the division of India into India and Pakistan, and the disaster that follows it. In the end, Nahal seems to suggest that a return to Gandhi is the only solution to the problems people face today. It is hoped that a critical analysis of The Gandhi Quartet, the most expensive commonwealth novel, in terms of its themes and techniques, would help gain fresh insights into Nahal's fictional art. Viewed in this context, acquires a greater significance, as it reminds us in unflinching terms, of the need to hold fast to the Gandhian ideals in a world torn apart by narrow sectarian and communal considerations.

Chaman Nahal, a contemporary novelist composed The Gandhi Quartet an experiment to compose historical fiction in Indian writing in English. The third novel The Triumph of the Tricolour deals with the Noncooperation Movement in Indian national Movement. Kusum, he fictional protagonist of the quartet plays a well-known role in the novel. Kusum along with her son Arun, the staunch followers of Gandhi attracted towards revolutionary activities and induced those revolutionaries in the major part of the novel, but at the end of the story they realised their folly and accepted the path of mahatma at the end of the novel. Thus the Moderates get triumph over the Revolutionaries in The Triumph of the Tricolour

This question pinpoints, having no cultural identity and forgetting our roots, people with two cultures tugging and pulling each other, one from their home country and other from the country they immigrated to. Divakaruni is named for her lavish exploration of immigrant experiences especially that of South Asian women society. She brings out sumptuous feast upon the ideas about women from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh. Asian American voices interrogate about traditions, protest modes or represent the cultural labels pressed upon them, hereby Divakaruni encompasses, South Asian women who struggle to find out their own identities and diasporic features in her collections of poems. This paper brings out the ideologies of losing identity against overwhelming power and to interrogate the fixed line drawn between one national discourse and another. Poet, Novelist, Short story writer Chitra Baneerji Divakaruni is known for her portrayal of immigrant Indian women. Divakaruni, who was born in India, immigrated to United States in 1976, she draws on her own experiences and those of other immigrant Indian women to write novels and verses including the award winning, 'Leaving Yuba City: New and Selected poems', 'Arranged marriage' a collection of short stories and 'The Mistress of spices' a novel.
