This study analyses the attitudes of teachers in Spain towards the inclusion of learners with aut... more This study analyses the attitudes of teachers in Spain towards the inclusion of learners with autism spectrum disorder in mainstream education settings and their relationship with the perceived benefits of inclusion. The ex post facto prospective design included 180 teachers from 14 schools. Data were collected using a questionnaire on teachers' attitudes towards inclusive education and a second questionnaire on the benefits of inclusion developed for the specific purposes of this study. The results show teachers' positive attitudes towards inclusion as well as the benefits perceived. This study demonstrates the fundamental role of teachers' previous experience. Implications for inclusive cultures and practices in schools are discussed.

In this paper, we advance the results of a study on the use of smartphone functions in the perman... more In this paper, we advance the results of a study on the use of smartphone functions in the permanent training of primary-school teachers supported by photo-elicitation processes. The study began in January 2015 and will end in December 2017. Three teachers participated from the primary schools Jaime Vera in Madrid and La Paloma in Azuqueca de Henares (Guadalajara), Spain. To date, the smartphone functions used for photo elicitation by these teachers to reflect on difficulties in their practice include: taking photos of classroom situations that are judged difficult by teachers; viewing these photos; recording an audio track of sessions reflecting on the content of these images; playing back the recorded audio tracks to transcribe their content and identify the theories and beliefs on which participating teachers' decisions are based and, finally, storing all this information in the cloud (Dropbox, Drive, at the rest).

Se trata de una nueva versión revisada y ampliada, especialmente en dos direcciones: los elementos que fundamentan la educación inclusiva y la propuesta de un curriculum preocupado por la sostenibilidad. Se trata de un instrumento útil para guiar la autorreflexión, la participación y el diálogo entre los diferentes miembros de la comunidad educativa. La finalidad última de esta guía es la de construir espacios educativos que promuevan la participación e incrementen su capacidad para responder a la diversidad del alumnado garantizando la equidad y calidad.

Los autores se posicionan al lado de los enfoques críticos que contribuyan a reducir las situaciones de discriminación que experimentan muchos estudiantes antes, durante y después de su escolarización. También se analizan algunos de los significados o perspectivas desde las cuales abordar la educación inclusiva y se resumen algunos de los principales resultados y conocimientos disponibles para comprenderla y mejorarla, producto de la investigación. In this paper, we advance some of the results of a study aimed at identifying the contributions o... more In this paper, we advance some of the results of a study aimed at identifying the contributions of smartphones as a support for multiple systems of representation in continuing teacher training. The participants are three teachers of primary school. The still-image tools on smartphones enable the representation and communication of situations experienced in classrooms using photography. Taking photos of classroom situations that are considered difficult by these teachers, and later viewing these photos to help them reflect on what occurred in the classroom using photo-elicitation processes, enables us to evaluate the possibilities that smartphones offer to represent and communicate meanings, beliefs and ideas on problematic situations using images, while weighing up diverse alternatives for professional action. They further enable analysis of trends concerning the type of image captured and the meanings associated to them.

This study presents a review of the guides and tools found in the literature regarding the implem... more This study presents a review of the guides and tools found in the literature regarding the implementation of inclusive education to support schools in the development and improvement of their educational practices. A total of 22 guides were reviewed, with their corresponding analyses of: the purpose for which they were created, their inclusive perspective, their target social group, the stage at which they are most efficient, the action strategies they propose, the basic structure on which they are founded, the dimensions and indicators on which they stimulate reflection and the evaluation tools and instruments they propose. The conclusions highlight the need to use and show the content of this type of resources, generating spaces for reflection in school communities.
