The past twenty years showed a high interest in studying bullying in the area of work and organiz... more The past twenty years showed a high interest in studying bullying in the area of work and organizational psychology. This phenomenon was defined through a variety of definitions and concepts in Europe, America and Asia. This article aims to review bullying literature in order to highlight, on one hand, the variety of concepts used to describe bullying and on the other hand, the common aspects of the bullying definitions. For this aim, a literature review was conducted in order to emphasize the common aspects of bullying definitions and large amount of concepts used to define it. Over the years, the bullying phenomenon was described by many concepts from which English-speaking countries preferred the use of the term bullying while, Germanspeaking countries preferred the use of the term mobbing. Regarding the definitions, these highlighted some common aspects such as a perceived power imbalanced between the aggressor and the victim, negative and systematic acts, a situation in which the victims is finding herself in an inferior position and starts to experience the helplessness situation

Rezumat: În cadrul acestei cercetări bazate pe chestionar, am urmărit modul în care 145 de angaja... more Rezumat: În cadrul acestei cercetări bazate pe chestionar, am urmărit modul în care 145 de angajaţi din sectorul servicii prezintă aspecte legate de reglarea emoţională în context profesional. Rezultatele indică diversitatea contextelor în care au loc încercările conştiente de control emoţional, dar şi varietatea strategiilor de reglare utilizate. Asocierea redusă dintre variabilele de vârstă, gen, context social şi tip de activitate cu strategiile de reglare, cu motivaţia şi consecinţele percepute ale eforturilor de control afectiv incită la realizarea unor cercetări care să aprofundeze specificul muncii emoţionale în context românesc. Cuvinte cheie: reglarea emoţiilor, muncă emoţională, sector servicii.

Despite the fact that workplace bullying is increasingly being recognized as a serious problem in... more Despite the fact that workplace bullying is increasingly being recognized as a serious problem in society today, at present, there is no Romanian standardized instrument able to measure the bullying phenomenon. The aim of the present study is to investigate, on Romanian employees, the psychometric properties of two well-known instruments existing in workplace bullying literature such as Negative Acts Questionnaire Revised (NAQ-R; Einarsen, Hoel & Notelaers, 2009) and (2) Escala de Abuso Psicologico Applicado en el Lugar de Trabajo (EAPA-T; Escartin, Rodriguez-Carballeira, Gomez-Benito, Zapf, 2010).These instruments were translated using the back-translation method and analyses such as: (1) Exploratory Factor Analysis; (2) Confirmatory Factor Analysis (3) Cronbach's alpha coefficients and (4) correlations between the two scales were employed. Exploratory Factor Analysis revealed three main factors for the Romanian version of NAQ-R and four main factors for the Romanian version of EAPA-T. Cronbach's alpha coefficients were greater than .70 for both scales. Also the results showed a good convergent validity between the two scales. The results of this study provides two instruments able to measure workplace bullying on Romanian employees.
