Regionalism is generally understood as a dual meaning notion: regionalism is understood as an dow... more Regionalism is generally understood as a dual meaning notion: regionalism is understood as an downward and upward move. Both notions depict changes at a regional level, being interdependent, the only one difference being the fact that regionalism grasped in political exposures leads to federalization (a space system consisting of unifying autonomous states with similar cultural and historical background into a unique state organization) and regionalism represents an administrative process which defines new administrative-territorial units with the purpose of establishing cooperation zones. According to some theories, regional development represents the potential of the regions to produce and sell goods and services, and implicitly the potential of the population to earn income. The number of shipping companies listed on stock exchanges all over the world has significantly i... more The number of shipping companies listed on stock exchanges all over the world has significantly increased over the last 15 years and these companies have generated significant gains and losses for the stock holders. Many times it is difficult to understand how stock prices of shipping companies are moving, since there is no clear correlation between the stock prices of shipping companies and leading market indexes such as Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) or Dow Jones Transportation Average (DJTA). At first sight evolution of stock prices should be linked with the evolution of the shipping indices which are daily published by the Baltic Exchange, but the complex chartering strategies of shipping companies and their preference for long term contracts are considerably reducing the impact of short term evolution of shipping indices on the stock prices. Absorbing European funds represents for Romania a chance to recover from the social and economica... more Absorbing European funds represents for Romania a chance to recover from the social and economical gaps and becoming a competitive state in relation to the other UE members. The reuced degree of absorbtion is associated with the reduced capacity to administrate spending these funds. Potential conflicts of interest frauds and investigations reported in the media are the effects of lack of exercising effective control over the management of these funds from the responsible institutions. The concept aims at the overall impact of the benefits generated by a particular project, on a larger number of individuals than the main beneficiaries of a particular department, on a regional or national level. The ex -post impact studies the program impacts, by reffering to identified needs of programs and show if the positively generated effects are sustainable after program implementing.

The Hermin model is a dynamic and multi-sector model that is used by most member states to assess the impact of structural funds on national economies and comparative trend analysis of financial transfers. The Herom model offers the posibility of estimating the costs and benefits at a sectorial, at a global social and economic level, separately analysing multiple institutional and economic sectors and the economic policies results.
