The movement from the Asian (communist) space, community and code to the American (capitalist) one, from traditions to novelty, from nature to civilization, from the condition of the poor to the one of the well-off, from the universe of the community to the one of the family, from mother to daughters, from first wife to second wife, from sanity to insanity and ultimately the movement from biography to fiction renders a surpassing of borders which create a fabulous (with both meanings of the words) writing which keeps the reader in a trance and the analyst in an ecstasy of the possibilities open to interpretation.

D. Sârbu's anti-utopian novel "Adio, Europa!". Such an analysis aims at presenting the manner in which the traditional human values were abused (deleted, changed, censored) by an oligarchic system and the manner in which new totalitarian ideologies annulled tradition and individual identities.

Our study focuses on two objectives: a) the content analysis of theoretical models, educational policies and curricular documents at national and international level regarding pedagogical competences, and b) the identification of the specific categories of competences that will form the operational model. The operational categories of competences were subjected to expertise of a group of 50 specialists in the field of Educational Sciences in higher education and the paper presents the results of the semi-structured interview, thus offering both theoretical results and statistical data about the types of pedagogical competences involved in teaching languages.

The paper covers three dimensions from the perspective of pedagogical competences. The first dimension is on the definition of pedagogical competence. The concept of pedagogical competence tends to be used with the meaning of minimum professional standard, often specified by law, which should raise a person in fulfilling a particular role of the teaching profession. The second dimension is based on representative taxonomies and highlights current pedagogical competences. The taxonomic classification, which we provide below only refers to the basic competences involved in the based role of a teacher to lead one of the educational activities with students. The third dimension is represented by a proposal in a narrow framework of a holistic representation of pedagogical competences for the teaching career. In the holistic view, we delineate two broad categories of pedagogical competences in accord with current approaches: general pedagogical competence and special pedagogical competence. After analyzing the pedagogical competences taxonomies, we obtained a comprehensive and actual representation. This representation allows a better understanding of the general and secondary categories of pedagogical competences. The study was unfolded in CNCSIS -TE 282/July 2010 "INOVACOM -Curricular innovations for the development of the pedagogical competencies of teachers of Romanian Language and communication through initial training programmes for teachers".

For this purpose we undertake the theoretical findings concerning the main issues of preparing pre-service language teachers. Thus, we analyze the results obtained by 89 candidates who took the national exam for the filling a teaching position as teachers of Romanian language and literature starting from the premise that these results reflect the level of initial training from the perspective of the development of pedagogical competences. The results of the research indicate the necessity of taking some measures for the improvement of initial training for the teachers of Romanian language and literature from a pedagogical perspective with a view to obtaining better results at the national exams for the filling of a teaching position fact which will have a positive effect upon professional integration.
