"The reader's interest in the substrates of Congolese democracy ... more "The reader's interest in the substrates of Congolese democracy is deeply revived through the writing of Jean Bofane, the place where reality and fiction become one. The start of 2019 has been a historic moment for the DRC as it is the first time that a former president has peacefully handed over power. Outgoing President Joseph Kabila cedes power to Félix Tshisekedi while maintaining the mystery of his deep and future intentions. The new President, Felix Tshilombo Tshisekedi, operates literally like the character Tshilombo in the novel Mathematiques congolaises. Starting from this resemblance, we’ve created a political-literary analysis around the events that took place both in the book and reality. Keywords: literature, politics, democracy, conflict, Democratic Republic of Congo "

For over 20 years, informality, corruption, death, trafficking, theft represented a modus vivendi in the North Kivu province. The state of siege implemented on May 6, 2021 is intended to be a major restoration of North Kivu and Ituri provinces. At that time, the provinces fell under the military control of the FARDC (Armed Forces of the DRC), which raises two main questions Is this measure fit to meet the goal established by the President, namely the pacification of the eastern region? Or is it a tool to reinforce the control of the President over the country? However, the State of Siege is more than an exceptional measure: it is a promise of the President to his people. Active, determined and involved in the two territories, with appropriate words addressed to the grieving population, Tshisekedi not only repeats the sensitive elements known worldwide, but he exceeds the usual limits: he desires to remove the "maguilles" from the national army and he wants institutions on which he can rely. Basically, the one who embodies the system is fighting it today. Within this article we aim at exploring if new approach to conflict is prolific and has the potential to succeed at least in its early stages. This study could be performed due to field data provided by Kivu Security Tracker.

"Nowadays, more than ever, China plays a major role in economic activities in Africa. China ... more "Nowadays, more than ever, China plays a major role in economic activities in Africa. China competes aggressively with the West for control of the continent's strategic mineral resources. The great red actor considers that the imposition of Western democratic values on Africa is one of the main causes of political instability and economic stagnation, which is why he has chosen to adopt a different attitude which is has proven to be prolific in the context of globalization. The cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with China is currently considered by the Congolese people as a safety valve, an insurance against risks. Essentially, the DRC tops the list of China's strategic partners in Africa, and the DRC aims to attract China to help build infrastructure. This cooperation bears the signature of Joseph Kabila (president of the country from 2001 to 2018), his speech being a central point of this research. While the two countries boast of an exemplary model of win-win cooperation, this article aims to explore whether it is really a win-win collaboration or rather China is trying to invent a new order using a cosmetized neocolonialism. Keywords: Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, China, globalization, mineral ressources, neocoloniaslism, global order "

For the past two decades the Eastern territory of the Democratic Republic of Congo has been the main target of several bloody conflicts among which the last one is about ADF. Furthermore, the upsurge of ADF massacres was accompanied by a propaganda campaign built around jihadist discourse. Terrorism represents a real contemporary threat for the DRC, but not in its Islamist form as envisaged by the government. This paper aims to analyze the instrumentalization of terrorism in the DRC as well as the steps which have transformed the conflict into terrorism.

Eleven years after the launch of Sortir de la grande nuit 1 , the intensely updated English version of the masterpiece appears in 2021 at Columbia University Press publishing house. The book's title suggests the progress of the African community on a global scale. Moreover, the Cameroonian author clearly indicates that this project has dealt with "decolonization as a praxis of selfdefense and as an experience of emergence and uprising" and it is "an inquiry into the decolonized community". 2 Out of the Dark Night is divided into six dense chapters, outlined by an Introduction and an Epilogue meant to lead us directly into the Politics of the Future World, the main point being the localization of the postcolonial at the present moment, because "our era is far from being one of repentance, and is rather an era of clear conscience" (p. 133) and all chapters are completing and supporting this statement.
