This research aims to identify if there is a relationship between CE and the preference of Romanian/Croatian respondents for a hotel belonging to a domestic chain vs. international (foreign) chain. Methodology: Exploratory and descriptive research was performed. The data were collected thorough an online survey, aiming for a quota sample stratified by age and gender. The resulting sample comprises 714 and 832 valid questionnaires in Romania and in Croatia, respectively. Factor analysis, nonparametric correlation analysis, and hypothesis testing were performed. Results: "Defensive patriotism" and "protectionism" were identified as CE factors. CE is moderately expressed for Croatian and Romanian respondents. Respondents from two countries with higher CE factors prefer a national rather than an international hotel. Customers who grew up in the communist era have higher ethnocentrism scores on defensive patriotism and protectionism and prefer national hotels more than those formed in the post-communist period. Conclusion: The results of this research relate to the previously revealed regularity that ethnocentric consumers prefer buying national rather than foreign goods and services. The same is now confirmed for respondents' hotel preferences when engaging in domestic tourism, contributing to closing a research gap. However, the results indicate that polycentric consumers might evaluate hotels by other criteria and not necessarily by their association with an international chain. In addition, in the case of rechecking post-COVID-19 results, the results presented here can serve as a pre-COVID-19 baseline.

The most companies don’t recognize the critical situation. If the company sees the problem in time and is ready to do something to save the company, then begins the „turnaround“ process to develop. To find the causes of the crisis, the company needs an essential and detailed analysis. The company makes an analysis based on product and market segmentation. This helps to find the problems and to resolve them. Inside the company the information is not necessary transparent: witch products, costumers and markets generate profit or loss. The analysis generates a different view of the profitability. This analysis creates a company structure that has independent segments or business areas based on product – market – technologycombination. The analysis generates for each product–market–segment a particular profitability (profit or loss) based on full costs. These analysis offers market chances and other possibilities for the company reorganization.

This research compares the national values and determines clusters of countries, which have similar values regarding organisational action and structure, and searches for any correlation between clusters' values and the countries' positions in the rank of European Chamber for businesses. Regarding the results, the paper establishes which countries are culturally more similar to Ukraine, and also which values are predominant in the most successful countries. Finally, the paper points to a trending set of ideas and organisational values that Ukrainian businesses and organisations must pay attention to within the cultural framework of their future European Union partners.

However, there is a gap in the literature concerning systematic reviews focused on recent articles and their findings. Thus, the aim of this study is to close this gap by systematically analysing 70 research papers tackling the subject of eye tracking in tourism and published in highly ranked tourism journals. The study identifies the most popular topics and trends for eye tracking research, as well as the most used types of visual stimuli, such as exhibitions, restaurant menus, promotional pictures or websites. The study also details on measurements specific for the analysis of eye tracking data, including fixations, saccades and heat maps. Results are emphasized along with their theoretical and practical implications. In addition, we highlight the lack of the use of dynamic stimuli in the existing literature and suggest further research directions using the eye tracking technique.

It did not matter if the companies did produce products or services. Then, they observed the difference between the two types of companies. Also, the companies that are producing services should be separate in two: companies that have soft or hard services. The companies that offer hard services are using the same strategies that are used by companies that produce products. The companies that offer soft services are not using all the internationalization strategies. The international hotel chains are offering soft services and are using as internalization strategies the license, strategic alliances and FDI. The strategies that are most used by hotel chains are the franchise and the management contract.

This project, which concentrated on the cities of Porto (Portugal) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania), involved different courses and set out to identify motivations, attitudes and perceptions of generation Z tourists, by collaboratively designing, applying and analyzing a joint questionnaire for each destination. Relying heavily on a technology-mediated, innovative approach that focuses on problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills, this paper draws on literature, field observation and informal feedback to give a general overview of the teaching and learning strategies used throughout the project and describe its implementation. Based on these premises, and taking into account the challenges currently being faced by HEI and the need to further enhance students’ learning experience and promote an articulated development of skills that meet the needs of an increasingly digital workplace, this project provides a practical framework for other initiatives within this scope, thus making a viable and constructive contribution towards educational innovation, particularly in the field of tourism education.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Festivals are perceived nowadays as an important part of cultural and leisure attractiveness of destinations. Festivals as major events have the power to mobilize large numbers of people and create a significant impact on their lives by creating a positive experience for spectators and by changing humans’ behaviour on long term in a positive way. The main purpose of the research is to study participants’ motivations for attending a film festival, their perceptions and overall impression from different segments point of view. An exploratory and descriptive research was conducted. Data were collected from the attendees of the Transilvania International Film Festival, which takes place on a regular basis in Cluj-Napoca, Romania using a faceto- face interview based on a short questionnaire. International hotel groups have penetrated the Romanian market and even if their presence is relatively small, the weight they possess is significant. The development of relationships with customers could be considered empathic to the hotel industry and it is significant because the hotel sector is highly competitive. The main purpose of the study is to identify the approach to their customers and the loyalty methods used by the hotels in Romania belonging to an international hotel chain. A descriptive research, applying an interview based on a questionnaire was performed. The research reveals that the communication with the clients is made mostly direct, but also by using the hotels’ own website. The hotels own databases with clients. The structure of the database allows them to personalize the offered services, what attracts an increasing degree of customer satisfaction. The strategies and ...

The selfreported influences on transitional choices were collected from Croatian and Romanian students. The analysis examines the interconnectedness of influences, differences arising from age and gender, and the heterogeneity of personal influence. Assuming that the approach to examined decisions is transferable to other social and economic choices, the results of this explorative study show that causal agency in decisionmaking should not be assumed a priori. This calls for further research and potential revision of the standard approach to individual decision-making.

These activities take place predominantly in the winter season, but also in the summer. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that the existing seasonality must be eliminated. Therefore, it is recommended for these areas to use good practices, as this knowledge is usually well defined and tested in business. There are already studies in which models of good practices are presented as those mountain tourist destinations where seasonality has been eliminated using the concept of "4 Seasons". In these destinations, recreational and sporting activities can be developed throughout the year. Joining multiple elements makes it possible to offer accommodation, rest and services on the same territory.

As international accreditations are viewed as a costly process, universities must think if this endeavor could have a positive impact in the long run. From an impact point of view, we look at the intake of students, focusing on the factors that impact the decision of students in their choice of university. We have noticed that these international accreditations are pursued by business schools to increase their outreach and to receive a certification of quality that is recognized overseas. We consider the hypothesis that international accreditation is a key factor in the decision-making process of candidates, and we tested it by applying a questionnaire to 400 business and economics students that are studying in two business schools. From the 400 students that answered the questionnaire, only 199 responses were considered fully answered and proper for our study....

Their decision-making process is influenced by multiple variables. The theory of planned behaviour is widely accepted and used to predict behaviours in certain contexts, including the buying of organic food products. Other researchers have identified values that the consumer of organic products hold and that influence their buying behaviour. This study analyses the factors that have an impact on buying intention and behaviour of Romanian organic products from these two perspectives. A proposed model was designed by combining the two frameworks. It was evaluated by using structural equation modelling with the SmartPLS 3 software package (v. 3.2.7, SmartPLS GmbH, Bönningstedt, Germany, 2017). Results confirm the model proposed in the theory of planned behaviour while integrating the relationships of consumer values. Health consciousness was found to have a significant effect both on buying intention as well as o...

Most of the educational institutions were delivering face-to-face classes and were forced to switch to online teaching in a very short period of time due to lockdown measures and the health and safety measures put in place by public authorities. In addition to universities, professional courses were also forced to be delivered online. Most of the time, these professional courses are important because they are directly linked to keeping the right to practice. The present paper focuses on the changing pattern in behavior of professionals and their acceptance of online courses. By applying over 1000 questionnaires in a timespan of more than one year, we have studied the impact of digitalization on the behavior and perception of professionals. We measured if the change towards online courses could be sustainable in the long run. The results of our study show that the behavior of professionals i...
