The current paper focuses on the link between taxation and foreign direct investments and the str... more The current paper focuses on the link between taxation and foreign direct investments and the struggle of governments to create a tax regime that would attract investors on the one hand and on the other hand increase the revenues. The paper wants to test if the economic development of a country represented in consumption (measured in VAT income for the country) and production (measured in the change in Corporate Income Tax) would create an increase in Foreign Direct Investments. Based on a series of models of multiple regressions we test if the FDI is influenced by the income through Corporate Income Tax and Value Added Tax.
E-banking is a fully automatic service for traditionally banking customer's products based on inf... more E-banking is a fully automatic service for traditionally banking customer's products based on information technology platforms. E-banking services provide customer access to accounts, the ability to move their money between different accounts or making payments via e-channels. The advantages generated by this services have determined an accelerate developing of this industry over the entire world. This paper examines some of the advantages of electronic banking products together with the characteristic management issues generated by the implementation of this new channel for financial services delivery.

With the introduction of the Euro and the development of economic and monetary union, the banking systems and banks in member countries had to adapt their policies to meet new challenges. Thus, an increase in the competition appeared on European markets, which has led to a change in the market through mergers and acquisitions and the appearance of clusters. Our research focuses on the general impact of the Euro and the particularities of the banking system. In our paper we have also analyzed some of the costs and benefits of the process.

Corporate sector use to have easy access to loans and risk management was not one of the priorities at that time. Times have changed and thus the structure of loans, deposits and overdue loans has changed. The paper analyses the changes and tries to give a short and medium time perspective on the market evolution

The current paper makes an analysis of the fulfilment of Romania’s convergence criteria. In the a... more The current paper makes an analysis of the fulfilment of Romania’s convergence criteria. In the article we will also present the Copenhagen Convergence Criteria, and make some remarks about the need to revise the accession criteria to the Economic and Monetary Union. The decision of joining the EMU remains still a political one, and there is still to be decided whether a set of real convergence criteria would prove to more efficient and also help to meet the European Union’s goal, similar living conditions inside its borders.
