Recently, a reflective display technique was introduced, in which total internal reflection is se... more Recently, a reflective display technique was introduced, in which total internal reflection is selectively frustrated through electrophoresis of pigment particles. Grey-scale control of such reflection has now been achieved, using suspensions of sub-optical, non-scattering particles to modulate the real and imaginary component of the effective refractive index near the interface where the reflection occurs.
