HrMs O 11 (Lt. H.A.W. Goossens, RNN) is accidentaly rammed and sunk by the Dutch guard vessel BV 3 (tug Amsterdam) while leaving Den Helder harbour. Three of the crew are killed. The submarine is salvaged and taken to the Navy Yard to undergo repairs.
