Coastal Areas and Small Islands have a rich diversity of potential natural resources, and are imp... more Coastal Areas and Small Islands have a rich diversity of potential natural resources, and are important for social, economic, and cultural development of the community. The potential of natural resources of Gili Ketapang island needs to be done study for marine ecotourism development. This study examines the suitability, carrying capacity and ability of land in Gili Ketapang island. This research uses survey method to obtain facts from actual symptoms. The result shows the value of tourist suitability index of beach tourism category of 88% (S1) and carrying capacity of area of 534 person/day. Snorkeling category travel suitability index of 57% (S3) and the carrying capacity of the area of 110 people/day. The carrying capacity of camping category is 103 people/day. Classification of Gili Ketapang island capability is included in class one (I) with good carrying capacity without limiting factor.

The technique was simple can be done by every one who had scientific. The data collected is the calculation of the closing of the type of substrate, fish, invertebrates, rare species and the impact that occurred at the site. Invertebrate are animals group which do not have a backbone. This study aims to identify the target invertebrate species and abundance of invertebrate targets. The location of research is in the area of Teluk Semut, Sendang Biru, South Malang. Data collection is done at two stations in order to do a comparison and get the calculation of these observations, while the research method using the belt transect as far as 100m at 2 different points. Each transect belt has a width of 5m (respectively width of 2.5 m on each side of the transect), was observed with " S " pattern and look to remote reefs. Overall surveyed area measuring 20m x 5m = 100m². The results of the monitoring show Stenopus hispidus has the highest number of 7 animals, and several other species. Station 1 has a more dominant diversity than station 2. Indicators of healthy coral reefs are at more or less the population of triton and a crown of thorn. The least amount of invertebrate discovered show the ecological balance between the coral cover and fish populations. Although, the region is also an area of fishing with nets disturbing evidence of coral life. The high primary productivity of waters causing coral these waters is often a place of spawning, rearing and foraging. That's area needs further action, so that the ecosystem can be maintained and restored with high diversity.
