This article aims at demonstrating the possibility of criticism about the criminal law (Lei 9.099... more This article aims at demonstrating the possibility of criticism about the criminal law (Lei 9.099/95) from two perspectives seen as marginal within penal law studies: the legal feminism and the penal criticism (garantismo). Taking into account the victim's condition and the defendant's rights during the criminal proceedings, such discourses are linked to show the inefficacy of that law towards both the victim and the defendant.

Theoretical modeling of dynamic processes in chemical engineering often implies the numeric solut... more Theoretical modeling of dynamic processes in chemical engineering often implies the numeric solution of one or more partial differential equations. The complexity of such problems is increased when the solutions exhibit sharp moving fronts. A new numerical method is established, based on interpolating wavelets, that dynamically adapts the collocation grid so that higher resolution is automatically attributed to domain regions where sharp features are present. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated with some relevant examples in a chemical engineering context.
