It differs, among other features, by the absence of median carina at eumetope and clypeus, tegmina with four closed nodal cells and a node within RP and MP, and presence of preapical tooth on genital styli of male.

It is characterized by the body dorsally saddle-shaped, brachypterous, tegmina with moderate reticulation, metope elongate, and terga caudally elevated. The new taxon is the second genus of Elicini in Chile and the third of South America. It was found associated with Calceolaria polifolia Hook. (Calceolariaceae).

(Deltocephalinae: Faltalini) is described from Chile (Bío Bío and Araucanía Regions) and Argentina (La Pampa and Entre Ríos Provinces). It is differentiated from other Faltalini by the following combination of characters: narrow and dorsoventrally compressed body, brachypterous, forewing without reticulate venation, male pygofer with ventroapical tooth and side with 10–15 macrosetae dorsoapically, and female pygofer with many macrosetae.

Se describe Psectrascelis cidburmeisteri nov. sp., en base a caracteres morfológicos externos, incluido el aparato genital masculino. El nuevo taxón proviene de la Cordillera de la Costa de la Región del Maule, registro que llena el vacío distribucional del género Psectrascelis Solier en esa zona. Se incluyen diferencias con las especies geográfica y morfológicamente más cercanas.
Abstract. Psectrascelis cidburmeisteri sp. nov., is described based on external morphological characters, including male genitalia. The new taxon comes from the coastal mountain range of Maule Region, record which fills the distributional gap of the genus Psectrascelis Solier in that zone. Differences from geographically and morphologically nearer species are provided.

Resumen. Se describe Pentagramma lueri sp. nov. de Chile central, siendo el primer registro del género en el país. Se discute la relación con los hospederos de la tribu Idiosystatini Emeljanov; evidencia indirecta sugiere que todos los géneros de la tribu se alimentan de Cyperaceae.

(Myerslopiidae) a partir de material fósil de Monte Verde, a orillas de la cala de Chinchihuapi, región de Los Lagos, Chile, en base a un tegmen izquierdo, con una data de 13.429 años AP. A pesar de ser una especie descrita en base a material fósil, se cree que esta especie podría no encontrarse extinta.
Abstract A fossil myerslopiid, Mapuchea pinoi sp. nov., is described from Monte Verde, Los Lagos Region, Chile. The new species is described on basis of a left tegmen, of 13,429 yr. BP. Although it is a fossil species it is possible that this taxon is not extinct.

Abstract. Heliofugus (Collariheliofugus) trigonum sp. nov., is described from specimens collected in the Andes Mountains of Linares Province, Maule Region, Chile. A key for the identification of the taxa belonging to the subgenus Collariheliofugus Freude is provided.

Astatometopon gen. nov. is described to accommodate A. sakakiba-rai sp. nov., a delphacid plantho... more Astatometopon gen. nov. is described to accommodate A. sakakiba-rai sp. nov., a delphacid planthopper distributed in the Nahuelbuta and Andes mountain ranges in the central and south central zones of Chile. The new taxon is placed into Delphacini but it presents some unusual features for the tribe, such as a strongly asymmetrical phallus with a porrect process arising from base, the absence of teeth on the hind margin of calcar, and an exceptional variation in carination of the eumetope.
Resumen. Astatometopon gen. nov. es descrito para acomodar a A. sakakibarai sp. nov., un delfácido distribuido en las cordilleras de Nahuelbuta y los Andes en las zonas centro y centro sur de Chile. El taxón es clasifi cado en Delphacini pero presenta características inusuales para la tribu, como un falo fuertemente asimétrico con un proceso porrecto erigido desde la base, la ausencia de dientes en el margen posterior del calcar, y una variación excepcional en la carenación de la eumetopa.

This Chilean endemic is distributed from Fundo Talanquén in Valparaíso Region (latitude 32°27ʹ S) to Panguipulli, Puyumen in Los Ríos Region (latitude 39°40ʹ S). New data are presented on A. limbellata, the first contribution on this species' geographical distribution since the original description, which only records the country of origin.

Additionally, the known distribution range of Delphacodes darwini Muir, 1929 (previously known only from Los Lagos region) is expanded up to Coquimbo region and Delphacodes kuscheli Fennah, 1955 (previously known from Juan Fernández Islands, Argentina and Uruguay) is recorded for first time from continental Chile. Photographs and diagnostic characters of the males are provided. Resumen: Nuevos registros de distribución de Delphacidae (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea) de Chile. Se registran por primera vez para Chile las especies Chionomus haywardi (Muir, 1929) (previamente conocida de Argentina y Uruguay), Syndelphax dissipatus (Muir, 1926) (previamente conocida de Ecuador, Brasil, Panamá y Costa Rica) y Dicranotropis bipectinata Muir, 1926 (previamente conocida de Ecuador). Adicionalmente, el rango de distribución conocido de Delphacodes darwini Muir, 1929 (previamente conocida sólo de la región de Los Lagos) se amplía hasta la región de Coquimbo y Delphacodes kuscheli Fennah, 1955 (previamente conocida del archipiélago de Juan Fernández, Argentina y Uruguay) se registra por primera vez para Chile continental. Abstract. Heliofugus (Collariheliofugus) trigonum sp. nov., is described from specimens collected in the Andes Mountains of Linares Province, Maule Region, Chile. A key for the identification of the taxa belonging to the subgenus Collariheliofugus Freude is provided.

Astatometopon gen. nov. is described to accommodate A. sakakiba-rai sp. nov., a delphacid plantho... more Astatometopon gen. nov. is described to accommodate A. sakakiba-rai sp. nov., a delphacid planthopper distributed in the Nahuelbuta and Andes mountain ranges in the central and south central zones of Chile. The new taxon is placed into Delphacini but it presents some unusual features for the tribe, such as a strongly asymmetrical phallus with a porrect process arising from base, the absence of teeth on the hind margin of calcar, and an exceptional variation in carination of the eumetope.
Resumen. Astatometopon gen. nov. es descrito para acomodar a A. sakakibarai sp. nov., un delfácido distribuido en las cordilleras de Nahuelbuta y los Andes en las zonas centro y centro sur de Chile. El taxón es clasifi cado en Delphacini pero presenta características inusuales para la tribu, como un falo fuertemente asimétrico con un proceso porrecto erigido desde la base, la ausencia de dientes en el margen posterior del calcar, y una variación excepcional en la carenación de la eumetopa.

The range of Arelate limbellata (Stål, 1854) (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Flatidae), the only species... more The range of Arelate limbellata (Stål, 1854) (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Flatidae), the only species of the genus Arelate Stål, 1862, is addressed. This Chilean endemic is distributed from Fundo Talanquén in Valparaíso Region (latitude 32°27ʹ S) to Panguipulli, Puyumen in Los Ríos Region (latitude 39°40ʹ S). New data are presented on A. limbellata, the first contribution on this species' geographical distribution since the original description, which only records the country of origin.

Neuquén Province, is recorded for the first time for Chile. This new record is based in a single male
specimen collected with light trap in Nahuelbuta Mountains, Malleco Province, Araucanía Region.

Additionally, the known distribution range of Delphacodes darwini Muir, 1929 (previously known only from Los Lagos region) is expanded up to Coquimbo region and Delphacodes kuscheli Fennah, 1955 (previously known from Juan Fernández Islands, Argentina and Uruguay) is recorded for first time from continental Chile. Photographs and diagnostic characters of the males are provided. Resumen: Nuevos registros de distribución de Delphacidae (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea) de Chile. Se registran por primera vez para Chile las especies Chionomus haywardi (Muir, 1929) (previamente conocida de Argentina y Uruguay), Syndelphax dissipatus (Muir, 1926) (previamente conocida de Ecuador, Brasil, Panamá y Costa Rica) y Dicranotropis bipectinata Muir, 1926 (previamente conocida de Ecuador). Adicionalmente, el rango de distribución conocido de Delphacodes darwini Muir, 1929 (previamente conocida sólo de la región de Los Lagos) se amplía hasta la región de Coquimbo y Delphacodes kuscheli Fennah, 1955 (previamente conocida del archipiélago de Juan Fernández, Argentina y Uruguay) se registra por primera vez para Chile continental. Se proporcionan fotografías y caracteres diagnósticos de los machos.
