How one island remained offshore is a quest to understand how European identity has been kept at ... more How one island remained offshore is a quest to understand how European identity has been kept at bay to the point to which its rejection crystallised into Brexit. This thesis offers an argument to understand British Euroscepticism: the quasi-Darwinist distinction between “Britons” and “Europeans” in the collective imagination is not the natural fact it claims to be but rather the materialisation of a certain thought.
