Este artigo tem como objetivo relatar dois projetos de design de jogos sérios concebidos com o ob... more Este artigo tem como objetivo relatar dois projetos de design de jogos sérios concebidos com o objetivo de promover a difusão de informações confiáveis e a adoção de comportamentos preventivos durante a pandemia de COVID-19. Duas abordagens distintas de design são descritas, analisadas e comparadas em uma estrutura fundamentada na literatura que considerou os tipos de jogos e seus elementos principais (mecânica, narrativa, estética e tecnologia). Enquanto uma estratégia de design serviu para amenizar limitações inerentes a um tipo de jogo, a outra proporcionou experiências interativas mais elaboradas aos usuários.

Agrotoxics, pesticides, and other agricultural chemicals have long been used for pest control in ... more Agrotoxics, pesticides, and other agricultural chemicals have long been used for pest control in crops and plantations around the world. As people have become aware of this problem of food with agrotoxics, the demand for vegetables produced in vegetable gardens has increased. The Ladybug Factory Institute, an organization linked to the city hall of Belo Horizonte/MG, produces and distributes the larvae of these insects, to communities and vegetable gardens, in order to protect the production of vegetables, respecting the environment and the health of the people involved. The objective of this project is the development of a packaging, inspired by nature's solutions, able to transport the larvae of these insects from the Ladybug Factory to the vegetable garden, facilitating the handling during the release of these insects, avoiding losses and protecting them, being produced with biodegradable materials, avoiding environmental problems.

These analysis methodologies are the following: Ebrafire, Chichorro, Gretener and Multi-criteria. The Town area under study is bordered by Tiradentes Square, Senador Rocha Lagoa Street, Conêgo Camilo Veloso bystreet and Cônego de Bobadela Street in the historic center of Ouro Preto. The comparative analysis among the four methodologies presented discrepancies in the degrees of fire hazards. However the block assessed presents a high risk of fire, since the great majority of buildings in the área received insufficient fire safety results. Therefore, although the results here are not conclusive, since this research is in the initial phase, it is already possible to verify the urgency of mitigation actions to reduce the risk of fire in most buildings in the evaluated block. Therefore, mitigation actions coroborates for a policy of immediate fire risk management.

Many species can be selected with 10 cm basal diameter, 12 m high and approximately straight longitudinal axis. A slender element like that has a relatively low load capacity under compression force. This limitation can be by passed through a composition of bamboo and cables. Through coherent design, this composition may produce an aesthetical and light mast with high axial compression resistance. This hybrid structure opens a big application for bamboo tubes, as for example, masts for the modern tents, known as tensile structures in the low weight architecture. Different compositions which use a large number of bamboos can be derived from this one. So, the mast mechanical performance investigation opens the way for another more complex systems understanding. In this paper, the design of a bamboo mast with 6 meters long is developed. It is a plant of the graminae family which grows up all over tropical and part of subtropical regions of the world in more than 1250 species. High biomass production, high mechanical resistance, low specific weight and easy workability has done of bamboo a promise to future generations in relationship to sustainable construction systems. Bamboos of the Phyllostachys pubescens species are one of the most resistant and straight axis bamboos, used in China as material construction and other applications, as paper and fabrics. They are the most commercial bamboos of China and its forests covers 5,6 millions of hectare in that country. This exotic species is met on small plantations in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo states of Brazil. RESUMEN Este presente trabajo tiene como objetivo la presentación de resultados del análisis estr... more RESUMEN Este presente trabajo tiene como objetivo la presentación de resultados del análisis estructural experimental y numérico de tres diferentes columnas —denominadas híbrida, compuesta y haz— utilizando barras de bambú de la especie Phyllostachys pubescens. Se utilizaron, además de las barras de bambú, cables de acero, tornillos y cintas metálicas, de acuerdo con la configuración formal. Se permitió el perfeccionamiento de los procesos innovadores de construcción, con resultados y uso del Diagrama de Southwell, para conocimiento de la Carga de Euler. Se concluyó que el uso sostenible de estas columnas favorece la Biodiversidad, interactuando áreas del Diseño y de la Ingeniería.

In this study involving cementitious matrix composites, the influence of the water/cement (w/c) r... more In this study involving cementitious matrix composites, the influence of the water/cement (w/c) ratio variation (0.48, 0.60, 0.70 and 0.75) was analyzed in its open pore structure and in the carbonation front advancing. Test specimens were molded in cylindrical dimensions of (5x10) cm and (2x4) cm for each mix proportions, and subjected into accelerated carbonation tests, at controlled exposure conditions. The open porosity of the material was obtained by using a helium pycnometer. A model based on Fick's second law was used to fit an equation to the curve of progress of the carbonation front over time. The results show that the water/cement ratio can highly influence the analyzed properties; the mathematical model used provided an excellent approximation of the advancing carbonation front trend, allowing a good evaluation of the carbonation coefficient (K) associated to each mixture proportioning.
