O estudo apresentado nesse artigo tem o objetivo de selecionar alternativas de transporte de comm... more O estudo apresentado nesse artigo tem o objetivo de selecionar alternativas de transporte de commodities contidas em planos de investimento governamentais, para melhoria ou implantacao de infraestrutura que sejam competitivas com alternativas atuais, por meio de analise de decisao multicriterio. Para a avaliacao do problema foi elaborado um procedimento. Os metodos utilizados para a avaliacao e selecao de alternativas potenciais para o escoamento da producao de soja do Estado do Mato por meio da utilizacao do acesso da Hidrovia Tapajos e Teles Pires, foram o AHP e ELECTRE I. Os indicadores selecionados foram o valor do frete, tempo em trânsito, emissao de CO 2, por meio de valores quantitativos e confiabilidade e flexibilidade por meio de caracteristica qualitativa. A aplicacao do procedimento foi satisfatoria, pois foi possivel encontrar alternativas potenciais, no qual, os portos de destino se localizam na regiao norte do pais, sendo competitivas com as alternativas atuais.

However, governments face difficulties in establishing mechanisms to determine the best actions in the management of urban mobility regarding energy efficiency and to elaborate a ranking of cities based on energy efficiency in order to better allocate resources. This is due to the complex nature of obtaining a wide range of activity and energy data from a single municipality, especially in data-scarce regions. This paper develops and applies a model for estimating the energy efficiency of urban mobility that is applicable to different contexts and backgrounds. The transport sector plays a fundamental role in economic and social development in the urban con... more The transport sector plays a fundamental role in economic and social development in the urban context; however, it has a significant impact on air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions and the natural resource depletion. Therefore, this chapter seeks to identify, through a bibliographic review on road transportation and the Sustainable Development Goals, synergies and trade-offs between climate policies and transportation. Some actions to mitigate the impacts of road transportation on the environment were identified, based on the ASI (Avoid, Shift and Improve) approach considering aspects as high energy efficiency, low pollution and high capacity. Finally, this chapter presents some mitigation measures for the road transportation based on six categories and discuss the cost of shifting to road sustainable transport, which is a gap in the current literature. This is due to the complex nature of obtaining wide range of activity and energy data from a single municipality, especially from developing countries, where data is usually scarce. Under these circumstances, this paper develops a method for estimating the energy efficiency in urban passenger mobility, considering three different levels of detail. The innovative factor is the use of a multi-tier approach to compare and adjust outputs. The method was applied in Sorocaba, Brazil, estimating a baseline of energy efficiency in this city. Results: Results show that energy efficiency varied from 0.67 passenger per kilometer/Mega Joule in 2013 to 0.70 passenger per kilometer /Mega Joule in 2017, which are consistent with the Brazilian passenger transport energy efficiency. Revisão sistemática de estudos de viabilidade em transporte: uma contribuição para o transporte h... more Revisão sistemática de estudos de viabilidade em transporte: uma contribuição para o transporte hidroviário Este artigo tem como objetivo identificar os estudos de viabilidade em sistemas de transportes através de um procedimento metodológico. Esse procedimento tem como recurso a exaustão na busca dos estudos analisados, a seleção justificada dos estudos e a avaliação da qualidade metodológica. Foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica, gerando a inclusão de 47 artigos, porém, foram destacados 18 artigos por apresentarem aplicação em estudos de caso. Com a revisão sistemática foi possível identificar e discutir as contribuições das variáveis e dos Métodos/Ferramentas aplicados em estudos de viabilidade em diferentes modos de transportes, com aplicação em sistema de transporte hidroviário. Essas variáveis e ferramentas estão sendo adotadas a fim de propor um detalhamento estruturado para aplicar em futuros estudos de casos, considerando aspectos econômicos, financeiros, operacionais, técnicos, ambientais e sociais. Palavras-chave: Viabilidade. Modos de transporte. Modo de transporte hidroviário. Infraestrutura. Análise de investimento. This article aims to identify the feasibility studies for transport systems using the systematic review. This review has as a resource the exhaustion in the pursuit of studies reviewed, justified selection of the studies and the assessment of the methodological quality. A literature review was conducted, resulting in the inclusion of 47 articles; however, 18 articles were highlighted by submitting application in case studies. The systematic review was used in order to identify and discuss the contributions of the variables and methods/tools applied in feasibility studies on different modes of transport and that could contribute to a waterway transport system. These variables and tools are being adopted in order to propose a structured detailing to apply in future case studies, where environmental, social, economic, financials, and operational and technical aspects are considered.

Soybean is a commodity that has an important influence on the Brazilian economy because it accoun... more Soybean is a commodity that has an important influence on the Brazilian economy because it accounts for the largest share among the grains in the export market. Its main production centers excel in regions far from major consuming centers, requiring long commutes especially in road transport. The distance is the most influential factor in transport costs and is directly related to the freight. To define actual road distances, particularly in unfamiliar roads, it is necessary to use a correction factor. In addition to estimating a better correction factor, the paper aims to contribute by developing a procedure to identify this factor. This paper will analyze the relationships between existing Euclidean distances in numerous points, the producing centers and Brazilian's ports, performing comparisons between the correction factor obtained by calculation in this article with the factors obtained by other authors, also seeking to relate the road distances calculated based on intervals and freight. The advantage of obtaining a more accurate factor k is to allow the results of different location, such as p-median be more accurate. The result was satisfactory when comparing with the existing literature.

However, a myriad of strategies has been developed for this purpose but there is a lack of methodologies that allow the choice of the best ones for a specific case. Este trabalho visa apresentar os resultados de um estudo destinado a analise de sustentabilidade ... more Este trabalho visa apresentar os resultados de um estudo destinado a analise de sustentabilidade atraves de analise de sensibilidade das alternativas de rota existentes e potenciais para escoamento da soja com origem no municipio de Rondonopolis, no Estado do Mato Grosso, com destino portos para exportacao. Para esta analise foram escolhidos tres indicadores de sustentabilidade, sendo eles: frete, tempo medio de viagem e emissao de CO 2 . O estudo possibilitou o esclarecimento sobre a escolha da rota mais utilizada para o escoamento de soja por meio do porto de Santos. Dos resultados obtidos, pode-se observar que, nas alternativas de rota que utilizaram os modos de transporte ferroviario e/ou hidroviario na maior parte do percurso apresentaram menor emissao de CO 2 e menor valor de frete.

The purpose of study is to assess alternatives for commodities transportation, in the State of Ma... more The purpose of study is to assess alternatives for commodities transportation, in the State of Mato Grosso, Brazil, by adopting a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. Therefore, we used three models, called traditional (VRS and CRS) and the Cross - Evaluation. The inputs were the freight rate, cost of accidents and CO2 emissions, while the output was the weighted average speed of each alternative. The study evaluated the performance of seven macroregions. Results indicated the best alternatives for each microregion, in particular, the adoption of railway mode all over the transportation process was indicated considering all scenarios.
