A new coronavirus infection, called COVID-19, was first identified in Wuhan, China, in late 2019.... more A new coronavirus infection, called COVID-19, was first identified in Wuhan, China, in late 2019. COVID-19 is caused by coronavirus 2 of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2), and has spread quickly to other countries (WHO, 2020). Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, people were quarantined in many parts of the world. Previous research with quarantined children and parents suggests that that the mean posttraumatic stress scores were four times higher in children who had been quarantined than in those who were not quarantined during H1N1 in United States (Sprang, Silman, 2013). Children and adolescents can face stressors related to the separation and restriction to their peers such as frustration and boredom, lack of in-person contact with classmates, friends, and teachers. As well, quarantine related to the COVID-19 can also lead to a lack of personal space at home, and family financial loss can have even more problematic effects (Wang et al, 2020).

A new coronavirus infection, called COVID-19, was first identified in Wuhan, China, in late 2019.... more A new coronavirus infection, called COVID-19, was first identified in Wuhan, China, in late 2019. COVID-19 is caused by coronavirus 2 of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2), and has spread quickly to other countries – Pandemic declared by the World Health Organization (WHO, 2020). Opinions and feelings related to COVID-19 spread quite rapidly nowadays, thus likely influencing public behavior during the epidemic (Wang Z and Ye X, 2017). There is still no treatment or vaccine to deal with COVID-19, the only known effective measure is the social distancing (Jin et al, 2020). Most countries have implemented school practices to promote social distancing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The most common intervention has been the school closures at the national or local level (Wang et al, 2020). There is no evidence to date, that the universities returning should not be harmful to the outbreak.

Among the sports-related injuries, orofacial injuries are very common and constitute serious health problems in athletes of different competition levels, with short, medium and long term consequences. However, the prevalence of injuries in different types of sports may vary depending on modalities, competition level and epidemiological characteristics of athletes and equipment allowed. Considering the equipment, sports with vehicles are considered the most likely to cause injury. Among these, studies are more common with athletes of sports with non-motorized wheeled vehicles, as cycling, skateboarding and skating.

However, until recently, there were no classes specifically designed for students with disabilities. In December 2014, a pilot instruction session on electronic scholarly sources was taught to a group of blind and visually impaired students. Despite considerable preparation and support in the form of assistive technology, during the class several difficulties arose. In this paper those difficulties are described along with the goals that must be reached in order to develop an appropriate information literacy module for blind and visually impaired students at UFSC Library.

Furthermore, sports that use equipment or vehicles that modify the speed of the player can present more serious injuries. The aim of this systematic review was to identify the overall prevalence of orofacial trauma in wheeled non-motor sports athletes. METHODS The search strategy was applied in eight electronic databases (Embase, LILACS, Livivo, PEDro, PubMed, Scopus, SportDiscus, and Web of Science). Additionally, a complementary search of the gray literature (Google Scholar, OpenGrey, and ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global), reference lists of included articles, and studies indicated by experts on the subject was done. The included articles were observational studies with sufficient data of orofacial trauma (type and anatomical site) in wheeled non-motor sport athletes, regardless of the competition level. Risk of bias was assessed by using the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist for Studies Reporting Prevalence Data. The meta-analysis was performed using R Statistics software, and the strength of cumulative evidence was assessed by The Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation. RESULTS From 4042 identified studies, after the removal of duplicates and phase one of selection (title and abstracts screening), 251 studies remained for phase two (full-text screening). Five articles were finally included. One study was considered to have a low risk of bias and four had a moderate risk of bias. The cumulative prevalence of orofacial injuries in wheeled non-motor sport athletes was 21.7% (CI: 8.7-34.7; I2 :97.6%) and the prevalence of dental injuries in these sports was 7.5% (CI:4.3-10.7; I2 :61.9%). The certainty in cumulative evidence was considered to be very low. CONCLUSION About 22% of the wheeled non-motor sport athletes have suffered orofacial injuries. The most prevalent type of injury was classified as dental trauma.
