OF EPOXY ADHESIVE, GRAPHITE, AND CICLOHEXANONE. A flid conducting composite material prepared from graphite
powder, commercial epoxy resin Araldite®, and cyclohexanone has been developed. The composition was optimized considering the
mechanical properties as conductivity and adhesiveness using response surface methodology. This work employed cyclic voltammetry
and amperometry to investigate the characteristics of such composite electrodes without and with the insertion of Prussian blue in
the electrode body (bulk modifid electrode). The composite electrodes were also successfully used for the amperometric detection
of hydrogen peroxide at 0.0V vs Ag/AgCl.

This work addresses the electrical characterization of the junction copper selenide (Cu 2−x Se) a... more This work addresses the electrical characterization of the junction copper selenide (Cu 2−x Se) and poly-[2-metoxy-5-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] (MeH-PPV). The Cu 2−x Se film was produced on copper (Cu) substrate using the chemical bath deposition technique. The polymer light emitting diodes were processed using the following layers: Cu/Cu 2−x Se or ITO (indium tin oxide), MeH-PPV and aluminum (Al). The barrier height ( ) of Cu/Cu 2−x Se/MeH-PPV was estimated using the Fowler-Nordheim fieldemission tunneling theory. We observed that decreases from 180 meV, for conventional ITO/MeH-PPV/Al device, to 10 meV for Cu/Cu 2−x Se/MeH-PPV/al diode.

Copper selenide (berzelianite) films were prepared on the title substrates using the chemical bat... more Copper selenide (berzelianite) films were prepared on the title substrates using the chemical bath deposition technique (CBD). Film composition was determined by energy dispersion of x-rays. The kinetics of film growth is parabolic and film adherence limits the film thickness. On titanium, copper selenide forms islands that do not completely cover the surface, unless the substrate is prepared with a tin oxide layer; film composition also depends on the titanium oxide layer. On vitreous carbon, CBD and mechanical immobilization techniques lead to films with similar resistances for the electron transfer across the film/substrate interface. On gold, composition studies revealed that film composition is always the same if the pH is in the range from 8 to 12, in contrast to films prepared by an ion-ion combination route. On copper, a new procedure for obtaining copper selenide films as thick as 5 µm has been developed.

This work describes the construction, characterization, and application of a three-electrode-inte... more This work describes the construction, characterization, and application of a three-electrode-integrated sensor into a micropipette tip. The three electrodes (working, pseudoreference and counter) are positioned at the end of a micropipette tip. The working electrode (graphite composite or gold microfiber) is placed inside the micropipette tip and the pseudo-reference and counter electrodes outside (diametrically opposed sides). This approach is candidate for portable applications and allows the analysis and studies in low-volume solutions (ca. 10 µL) which are useful for waste minimization and development of clean analytical methods. In addition, the three-electrode-integrated sensor can be easy used as detector in flow injection system through its direct joining at the end of polyethylene tubing of the FIA system.

This hybrid material showed superior electrocatalytic activity in hydrogen evolution reactions.
