Due to the frequent use, insects become resistant to active ingredients very quickly, they destroy the natural enemies of the pests, and have a harmful effect on humans. It is a method of controlling pests such as insects, mites, weeds and plant diseases using other organisms. It relies on predation, parasitism, herbivory, or other natural mechanisms. Accordingly, the application of biological protection, that is, the use of living organisms (predators and parasites) in plant protection programmes in protected areas, takes on a larger scale worldwide rather than the use of chemical pesticides. The research was conducted in 2015 and 2016, at 11 oats genotypes in terms of organic production.... more The research was conducted in 2015 and 2016, at 11 oats genotypes in terms of organic production. Three of the populations were domestic: Krivogastani, Trebenista and Kuceviste. The rest were introduced varieties, including Rajac, Slavuj and Lovcen from Serbia and varieties: Kupa, Baranja, Explorer,Sampionka and Istra from Croatia. In the first year of the study, the energy of germination of oats seed ranged from 70% in variety Rajac, up to 96% for the variety Kupa. In the second year of the study, the energy of germination was 81% for the variety Kupa, to 96% in variety Istra.Compared between varieties, it is pointed out that there are statistically significant differences. The total germination of oat seeds, cultivated under conditions of organic production, is statistically different between different genotypes, in both years of research. This research confirmed the occurrence and presence of tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyrick 1... more This research confirmed the occurrence and presence of tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyrick 1917) (Lepidoptera: Gelechidae) on tomato, in a protected area, in Southeast Macedonia, in the period of 2015 - 2016. Pheromones traps, as a secure method for monitoring and detecting the presence of T. absoluta, were used for collecting insects. The presence of T. absoluta was proved by morphological analysis of the male genital structure. The main objective of our research was to determine the correlation between the dynamics of populations of T. absoluta and climate factors in two production systems – integral and conventional, over two season spring /autumn, at tomatoes in a protected area. Flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) is an industrial crop and has great importance for humans and econo... more Flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) is an industrial crop and has great importance for humans and economy. Analysis of five different flax genotypes, produced in the Strumica region, Republic of Macedonia, in 2014 and 2015 is made, with regard to the content of protein in the flaxseed. The experiment consisted of five variants in three repetitions, divided by the method of randomized block system. During the vegetation, standard farming practices for field flax production were used. Analysis of the protein content in flaxseed was made in the Laboratory for plant and environmental protection, at the Faculty of Agriculture, “Goce Delcev” University – Stip (Standard: ISO 20483:2006). The content of protein in flaxseed was analyzed by Kjeldahl method. The results were statistically processed by the method of analysis of variance, and the differences were tested by LSD – test. The research was performed on 11 oats genotypes in terms of organic production, of which 3 are do... more The research was performed on 11 oats genotypes in terms of organic production, of which 3 are domestic populations (Krivogastani,Trebenista and Kuceviste) and the rest are introduced varieties including: Rajac, Slavuj and Lovken from Serbia, and varieties Kupa, Baranja, Eksplorer, Sampionka and Istra, from Croatia. The greatest energy of germination had a variety Kupa (96%), while the lowest energy of germination had variety Rajac (70%). There are very significant statistical differences among the varieties. The highest percentage of total germination in the year of examination showed the oats seed of the varietiy Kupa (96%), while the lowest total germination had variety Rajac (74%). Compared between varieties, it points to the conclusion that there are statistically significant differences.

The damages from the cotton bollworm have economic importance, especially when the species is in progradation. It is widespread all over the world, especially in warmer climates. The increase in the population of this cotton bollworm is associated with global warming.

Productive features of oat varieties grown in organic production in the region of Strumica. Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 24 (3): 398–403 The research was conducted during 2015 and 2016 of 11 oats genotypes in conditions of organic production. Three of the genotypes are domestic (Krivogastani, Trebenista and Kuceviste), 3 genotypes are from Serbia (Rajac, Slavuj and Lovken) and fi ve genotypes are from Croatia (Kupa, Baranja, Eksplorer, Sampionka and Istra). The genotypes showed different average values almost for all analyzed yield components and according to the signifi cance of the differences they are divided in groups. This monograph presents the results of researches carried out in oats, grown in conditions of org... more This monograph presents the results of researches carried out in oats, grown in conditions of organic production, obtained by analysing the morphological properties of the plants and chemical properties of the oats. The research was carried out in 2015 and 2016, on 11 oats genotypes, of foreign and domestic origin: Krivogashtani, Trebenishta, Kuchevishte, Rajac, Slavuj, Lovken, Kupa, Baranja, Eksplorer, Shampionka and Istra. The results show that the variety Kupa has the lowest plant height among all examined genotypes, while the variety Krivogashtani has the highest plants with a height above 100 cm. Since the height of the plant is in a negative correlation with the resistance of the lodging, the varieties suitable for breeding are: Kupa, Eksplorer, Trebenishta and Istra, whose height is less than 100 cm. Краток извадок Основна цел на истражувањето е да се увидат штетите што ги предизвикува минерот Tu... more Краток извадок Основна цел на истражувањето е да се увидат штетите што ги предизвикува минерот Tuta absoluta Meyrick и да се направи споредба меѓу оштетувањата на доматот од минерот во двете производни реколти. Според нашите испитувања, оштетувањата на доматите беа многу поголеми во втората, за разлика од оштетувањата на доматите во првата реколта. Кај доматите од првата реколта, најзабележливи, но и најголеми беа оштетувањата направени на листовите од доматот, а значајно е да се нагласи дека кај доматите во првата реколта беа забележани оштетувања на цветните пупки и плодовите од доматот, но само во поединечни случаи. Кај доматите од втората реколта оштетувањата од минерот беа видливи на сите органи од растението. Најголеми беа оштетувањата на листовите, но значајни штети беа направени и на цветните пупки и на плодовите од доматот. Кај оваа реколта, може да се каже дека штетите од минерот T. absoluta, на испитуваната парцела беа и до 100%.
The objective of this research is to monitor the number of tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyri... more The objective of this research is to monitor the number of tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) population in the Strumica region, over two harvests, spring and summer, in 2011. We also made a comparison between the damage of tomatoes, caused by tomato leaf miner in the spring and summer harvest. Tests were carried out on production plot with an area of 0,1 ha in the Strumica region, Republic of Macedonia. Pest monitoring was performed using yellow sticky traps and pheromone traps. Both methods proved to be quite effective for monitoring the pest population. According to our surveys, the damages on tomatoes were much larger in the second, apart from damaged tomatoes in the first harvest. With tomatoes from the first harvest, the largest and most visible damages were to the leaves of the plant, although, in individual cases, were observed damages on the flower branches and the flowers of the plant. Damages caused by the leaf miner in tomatoes from the second harvest, were visible at all organs of the plant. The greatest were damages on the leaves, but significant damages were made on the flower branches, flowers and fruits of tomatoes.
During the 2012 and 2013 researches are conducted on the leaf aphids (Homoptera: Aphididae) and t... more During the 2012 and 2013 researches are conducted on the leaf aphids (Homoptera: Aphididae) and their predators in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and weeds from Poaceae family. Four aphid species were determined in the wheat, including: Sitobion avenae Fabr., Metopolophium dirhodum Walk., Shizaphis graminum Roud. and Ropalosiphum padi L. in both years of examinations. On the weed vegetation from Poaceae family, in 2012 and 2013 the same aphids species are found, except Metopolophium dirhodum Walk., that was not registered in 2013. Five predator species in colonies of leaf aphids in wheat, over two years of research were identified: Coccinella septempunctata L. (Coccinellidae, Coleoptera), Adonia variegata Gz. (Coccinellidae, Coleoptera), Adalia bipunctata L. (Coccinellidae, Coleoptera), Chrisopa carnea Steph. (Chrysopidae, Neuroptera) and Scaeva pirasti L. (Syrphidae, Diptera). The studies that were conducted in 2011 and 2012 about the pest insects at tobacco, at four local... more The studies that were conducted in 2011 and 2012 about the pest insects at tobacco, at four localities in Strumica region, showed that the most important insect pests that cause damage to tobacco leaves are: the green peach aphid-Myzus persicae Sulz. (Homoptera: Aphididae), the onion trips-Thrips tabaci Lind. (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) and the tobacco flea beetle-Epitrix hirtipennis Melsh. (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae). In both years of research the greatest number showed Myzus persicae Sulz. and the lowest, Epitrix hirtipennis Melsh. In both years of research the green peach aphid is the most represented in the locality Nova Maala, while the lowest incidence in both years showed in the locality Kosturino. The onion trips (Thrips tabaci Lind) in 2011 and 2012 is the most represented in the locality Ilovica, and the lowest number representation, in both years of investigation, shows in the locality Radichevo. The tobacco flea beetle (Epitrix hirtipennis Melsh.), in both years of testing, as the most numerous is registered in the locality Kosturino, while the lowest numbers shows in the locality Nova Maala.
During two years of research (2011-2012) qualitative and quantitative analysis of thrips (Thysano... more During two years of research (2011-2012) qualitative and quantitative analysis of thrips (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) is made. Studies have been made on three localities, in greenhouses, in Strumica region. Qualitative analysis showed presence of two thrips species at pepper in greenhouses: Frankliniella occidentalis Pergande and Thrips tabaci Lind.Quantitative analysis showed that in the three localities, in both years of research, F. occidentalis is more numerous. Compared, by localities, F. occidentalis is the most numerous in locality Sachevo, in 2012, with 689 individuals caught. The lowest incidence F. occidentalis showed in locality Hamzali, in 2011, with 357 individuals caught. T. tabaci is the most numerous in locality Sachevo in 2012, with 113 individuals caught, and the lowest incidence had in locality Hamzali, in 2011, with 62 individuals caught.

During 2007 and 2008 examinations with some herbicide variants (Pendimetalin, Trifluralin, Metrib... more During 2007 and 2008 examinations with some herbicide variants (Pendimetalin, Trifluralin, Metribuzin and Metribuzin+Quizalofop-p-ethyl) and one control variant (untreated) were conducted on the experimental field of UGD, Faculty of agriculture-Strumica, to determine the efficacy of some herbicides (Pendimetalin and Trifluralin) in destroying weeds in pepper, and some herbicides (Pendimetalin, Metribuzin and Metribuzin+Quizalofop-p-ethyl) in destroying weeds in tomatoes, grown as summer crops in greenhouses. The weed vegetation in the experiment was consist of eight species, of which dominant were: Portulaca oleracea L. with 47, 5 plants/m 2 , Echinochloa crus galli L. (32, 5) and Galinsoga parviflora Cav. With 9,5 5 plants/m 2. The weeding on the experiment is relatively high and is in average, 108 plants/m 2. The efficacy of the herbicides in destroying the weeds in the two year of the examinations in all herbicides and herbicide combinations is relatively high, and the coefficient of efficacy at the most variants is more than 92 %. Although used in greenhouses, neither one of the herbicides showed phytotoxic effect on the crops.

The objective of this research is to monitor the number of tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyri... more The objective of this research is to monitor the number of tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) population in the Strumica region, over two harvests, spring and summer, in 2011. We also made a comparison between the damage of tomatoes, caused by tomato leaf miner in the spring and summer harvest. Tests were carried out on production plot with an area of 0,1 ha in the Strumica region, Republic of Macedonia. Pest monitoring was performed using yellow sticky traps and pheromone traps. Both methods proved to be quite effective for monitoring the pest population. According to our surveys, the damages on tomatoes were much larger in the second, apart from damaged tomatoes in the first harvest. With tomatoes from the first harvest, the largest and most visible damages were to the leaves of the plant, although, in individual cases, were observed damages on the flower branches and the flowers of the plant. Damages caused by the leaf miner in tomatoes from the second harvest, were visible at all organs of the plant. The greatest were damages on the leaves, but significant damages were made on the flower branches, flowers and fruits of tomatoes.

Four aphid species were determined in the wheat, including: Sitobion avenae Fabr., Metopolophium dirhodum Walk., Shizaphis graminum Roud. and Ropalosiphum padi L. in both years of examinations. On the weed vegetation from Poaceae family, in 2012 and 2013 the same aphids species are found, except Metopolophium dirhodum Walk., that was not registered in 2013. Five predator species in colonies of leaf aphids in wheat, over two years of research were identified: Coccinella septempunctata L. (Coccinellidae, Coleoptera), Adonia variegata Gz. (Coccinellidae, Coleoptera), Adalia bipunctata L. (Coccinellidae, Coleoptera), Chrisopa carnea Steph. (Chrysopidae, Neuroptera) and Scaeva pirasti L. (Syrphidae, Diptera). The studies that were conducted in 2011 and 2012 about the pest insects at tobacco, at four local... more The studies that were conducted in 2011 and 2012 about the pest insects at tobacco, at four localities in Strumica region, showed that the most important insect pests that cause damage to tobacco leaves are: the green peach aphid-Myzus persicae Sulz. (Homoptera: Aphididae), the onion trips-Thrips tabaci Lind. (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) and the tobacco flea beetle-Epitrix hirtipennis Melsh. (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae). In both years of research the greatest number showed Myzus persicae Sulz. and the lowest, Epitrix hirtipennis Melsh. In both years of research the green peach aphid is the most represented in the locality Nova Maala, while the lowest incidence in both years showed in the locality Kosturino. The onion trips (Thrips tabaci Lind) in 2011 and 2012 is the most represented in the locality Ilovica, and the lowest number representation, in both years of investigation, shows in the locality Radichevo. The tobacco flea beetle (Epitrix hirtipennis Melsh.), in both years of testing, as the most numerous is registered in the locality Kosturino, while the lowest numbers shows in the locality Nova Maala.
During two years of research (2011-2012) qualitative and quantitative analysis of thrips (Thysano... more During two years of research (2011-2012) qualitative and quantitative analysis of thrips (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) is made. Studies have been made on three localities, in greenhouses, in Strumica region. Qualitative analysis showed presence of two thrips species at pepper in greenhouses: Frankliniella occidentalis Pergande and Thrips tabaci Lind.Quantitative analysis showed that in the three localities, in both years of research, F. occidentalis is more numerous. Compared, by localities, F. occidentalis is the most numerous in locality Sachevo, in 2012, with 689 individuals caught. The lowest incidence F. occidentalis showed in locality Hamzali, in 2011, with 357 individuals caught. T. tabaci is the most numerous in locality Sachevo in 2012, with 113 individuals caught, and the lowest incidence had in locality Hamzali, in 2011, with 62 individuals caught.

During 2007 and 2008 examinations with some herbicide variants (Pendimetalin, Trifluralin, Metrib... more During 2007 and 2008 examinations with some herbicide variants (Pendimetalin, Trifluralin, Metribuzin and Metribuzin+Quizalofop-p-ethyl) and one control variant (untreated) were conducted on the experimental field of UGD, Faculty of agriculture-Strumica, to determine the efficacy of some herbicides (Pendimetalin and Trifluralin) in destroying weeds in pepper, and some herbicides (Pendimetalin, Metribuzin and Metribuzin+Quizalofop-p-ethyl) in destroying weeds in tomatoes, grown as summer crops in greenhouses. The weed vegetation in the experiment was consist of eight species, of which dominant were: Portulaca oleracea L. with 47, 5 plants/m 2 , Echinochloa crus galli L. (32, 5) and Galinsoga parviflora Cav. With 9,5 5 plants/m 2. The weeding on the experiment is relatively high and is in average, 108 plants/m 2. The efficacy of the herbicides in destroying the weeds in the two year of the examinations in all herbicides and herbicide combinations is relatively high, and the coefficient of efficacy at the most variants is more than 92 %. Although used in greenhouses, neither one of the herbicides showed phytotoxic effect on the crops.
