The aim of this research is to obtain information on the resistance of several local cayenne pepp... more The aim of this research is to obtain information on the resistance of several local cayenne pepper varieties from Southeast Sulawesi to drought stress. The study was conducted at Field Laboratory II, Faculty of Agriculture, Halu Oleo University, Kendari, which took place from January to June 2022. The research consisted of two experiments, namely the seed phase and the plant phase. The first experiment used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK). The first factor was drought stress, consisting of 3 levels of PEG concentration (0, 7.5, and 15%). The second factor was the type of cayenne pepper, including 2 national varieties: Dewata and Bara, as well as 4 local cultivars from Konsel, Konawe, Muna, and Kendari. Cashew (Anacardium occidentale L), a species belonging to the family Anacardiaceae, has been cult... more Cashew (Anacardium occidentale L), a species belonging to the family Anacardiaceae, has been cultivated throughout most of Indonesia’s areas and has become a priority commodity in Southeast Sulawesi for years. However, the information about its variation on morphology and relationship among individuals are still limited. This study aimed to determine the morphological variations and relationships among cashew individuals in three districts (Konawe, South Konawe, and East Kolaka) of Southeast Sulawesi. As many as ninety individuals were analyzed on 15 morphological variables for the variations and 47 variables using the complete linkage method based on Gower distance for the clustering. The coefficients of variation were varied on all evaluated variables. The highest was the height of main branches (cm), ranging from 47.32 % to 73.72 %. That problems can be overcome by using tolerant plant varieties. This study aims to determine the effect stress treatment on several types of tomato plants. This research was conducted at the Field Experiment Laboratory II, Faculty of Agriculture, Halu Oleo University from May to September 2021. The research design used a factorial randomized block design. The first factor is drought stress (K) consisting of 3 levels of treatment, namely watering 100% KL (K0), 50% KL (K1) and 25% KL (K2). The second factor was the type of tomato plant which consisted of 6 levels, namely Muna cultivar (V1), Konsel cultivar (V2), Kolaka cultivar (V3), Kolut cultivar (V4), Rose variety (V5) and Teeth variety (V6). Observation variables consisted of plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), root length (cm), root dry weight (g) and canopy dry weight (g). Observational data were analyzed by method of variance and tested with BNJ test with a 95% confidence level if F calculated is greater than F table. The interaction of drought stress treatment and tomato plant species had a significant effect on the all variables of plant.

Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Percobaan II Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Halu Oleo Kendari dengan menggunakan rancangan persilangan dialel penuh dan pengujiannya dengan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) tiga ulangan. Variabel yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, tinggi letak tongkol, jumlah daun, diameter batang, umur berbunga jantan ±50%, umur berbunga betina ±50%, panjang tongkol, diameter tongkol, jumlah baris/tongkol, jumlah biji/tongkol, berat biji/tongkol dan produktivitas. However, due to precipitation reactions with Al3+, Fe3+ in acidic soil, or Ca2+ in alkaline soil, its availability in soil is severely limited. Microbes have recently been proposed as a means of increasing the bioavailability of soil phosphate for plants. The goal of this research was to isolate and identify phosphate solubilizing molds (PSM) from various plant rhizospheres, including gadung (Dioscorea hispida Dennst), maize (Zea mays L.), bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper), pineapple (Ananas comosus L.), and banana (Ananas indica L.). PSM was isolated in vitro and then diluted using the dilution plate technique with Pikovskaya’s solid medium. This has been conducted at cocoa farming area at Wonggeduku Subdistrict, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. These treatments were arranged based on the nested design in which the pod position on the canopy i.e. on main stem, primary and secondary branches, and nested to the plant ages i.e. 8,10, 12, and 14 years old were used. The observed variable were pod length, pod diameter, seed weight, seed number, and dry production per pod. The data gathered were analysed by analysis of variance and the difference between treatments were justified by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at 95% significant level. The purpose of this study was to determine the estimate of heritability between characters of thirteen local waxy corn cultivars of Southeast Sulawesi. This study was prepared using a randomized block design (RBD), with 3 replicates. Total waxy corn cultivars studied was 13 species, so that there were 39 plots. Each plot consisted of a single cultivar. Observed variables were plant height (cm), stem diameter (cm), leaf area (cm2), number of leaves (strands), ear length (cm), cob diameter (cm), number of rows per ear, weight of 100 seeds (g), ear weight. Selama ini petani bertanam sayur dengan mengandalkan musim hujan, namun karena perubahan iklim terkadang curah terlalu tinggi atau sebaliknya kekeringan sehingga penanaman sayuran terhambat. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut adalah melalui pelatihan tentang teknik budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik atau budidaya tanaman tanpa tanah. Pelatihan dilaksanakan di Balai Desa Pombulaa Jaya yang diikuti oleh 38 orang petani. Pelatihan dilakukan dalam bentuk presentasi dan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi dan demonstrasi tentang pembuatan instalasi. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan antusias petani untuk mengikuti pelatihan cukup tinggi karena belum ada institusi yang memberikan sosialisasi dan pelatihan tentang teknik budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik. Worldwide and national yield losses of citrus production due to this disease infection have been very significant. This research ultimately aimed at producing citrus stocks through in-vitro culture, and free of CVPD. Citrus seeds were used as explant and cultured on MS and WPM in-vitro media, supplemented with malt extract. Citrus plantlets were tested for the presence of CVPD DNA using CVPD specific primers in PCR reactions. Research results showed that MS basal medium supplemented with malt extract was quite good for invitro production of citrus plantlets. Plantlets were negative for CVPD infection based on PCR tests. CVPD-free seedlings (Citrus reticulata) have been grafted with citrus rootstock (Citrus sinensis). One of the causes of the decreased yields is the reduction of organic matter in the soil. Peanut is one of the important crops in southeast Sulawesi and is usually intercropped with maize. However, the yield of peanut and maize crops were low as they were grown in marginal lands that have low nutrient contents, low CEC, high acidity, and low organic matter. The objectives of this paper were to summarize the results of our studies on the use of bio fertilizer bokashi plus fertilizer to improve peanut yields grown in marginal soil in southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. The study also examined the agronomical performance of several local peanut varieties which had high adaptability to the local conditions and marginal lands. The results of this study demonstrated that application of mulch and bokashi increased maize and peanut production, seed dry weight and 100-seed weight. ...

Microbes have recently been proposed as a means of increasing the bioavailability of soil phosphate for plants. The goal of this research was to isolate and identify phosphate solubilizing molds (PSM) from various plant rhizospheres, including gadung (Dioscorea hispida Dennst), maize (Zea mays L.), bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper), pineapple (Ananas comosus L.), and banana (Ananas indica L.). PSM was isolated in vitro and then diluted using the dilution plate technique with Pikovskaya’s solid medium. These treatments were arranged based on the nested design in which the pod position on the canopy i.e. on main stem, primary and secondary branches, and nested to the plant ages i.e. 8,10, 12, and 14 years old were used. The observed variable were pod length, pod diameter, seed weight, seed number, and dry production per pod. The data gathered were analysed by analysis of variance and the difference between treatments were justified by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at 95% significant level. The purpose of this study was to determine the estimate of heritability between characters of thirteen local waxy corn cultivars of Southeast Sulawesi. This study was prepared using a randomized block design (RBD), with 3 replicates. Total waxy corn cultivars studied was 13 species, so that there were 39 plots. Each plot consisted of a single cultivar. Observed variables were plant height (cm), stem diameter (cm), leaf area (cm2), number of leaves (strands), ear length (cm), cob diameter (cm), number of rows per ear, weight of 100 seeds (g), ear weight. Selama ini petani bertanam sayur dengan mengandalkan musim hujan, namun karena perubahan iklim terkadang curah terlalu tinggi atau sebaliknya kekeringan sehingga penanaman sayuran terhambat. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut adalah melalui pelatihan tentang teknik budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik atau budidaya tanaman tanpa tanah. Pelatihan dilaksanakan di Balai Desa Pombulaa Jaya yang diikuti oleh 38 orang petani. Pelatihan dilakukan dalam bentuk presentasi dan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi dan demonstrasi tentang pembuatan instalasi. Worldwide and national yield losses of citrus production due to this disease infection have been very significant. This research ultimately aimed at producing citrus stocks through in-vitro culture, and free of CVPD. Citrus seeds were used as explant and cultured on MS and WPM in-vitro media, supplemented with malt extract. Citrus plantlets were tested for the presence of CVPD DNA using CVPD specific primers in PCR reactions. Research results showed that MS basal medium supplemented with malt extract was quite good for invitro production of citrus plantlets. Plantlets were negative for CVPD infection based on PCR tests. CVPD-free seedlings (Citrus reticulata) have been grafted with citrus rootstock (Citrus sinensis). One of the causes of the decreased yields is the reduction of organic matter in the soil. Peanut is one of the important crops in southeast Sulawesi and is usually intercropped with maize. However, the yield of peanut and maize crops were low as they were grown in marginal lands that have low nutrient contents, low CEC, high acidity, and low organic matter. The objectives of this paper were to summarize the results of our studies on the use of bio fertilizer bokashi plus fertilizer to improve peanut yields grown in marginal soil in southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. The study also examined the agronomical performance of several local peanut varieties which had high adaptability to the local conditions and marginal lands.
