T... more Knowledge management is a vital part of disaster preparedness in reducing the disaster impacts. This article presents data based on a field survey of 200 people in East Lombok, Indonesia. The data taken from the survey is presented to examine how the community utilized the knowledge created and transferred during the preparedness phase into actions during the response phase. This article's data can be served as a starting point to examine knowledge management topics in humanitarian operations literature further and to reveal more novel insights from the survey results. This data-in-brief article accompanies the paper “Knowledge management and natural disaster preparedness: A systematic literature review and a case study of East Lombok, Indonesia” by Ratih Dyah Kusumastuti, A. This paper aims to identify indicators of community preparedness for disasters and apply these in... more This paper aims to identify indicators of community preparedness for disasters and apply these indicators to a critical case study context, namely the local communities in two districts of Lombok Island of Indonesia, which were stricken by earthquakes in 2018 and 2019. Community preparedness indicators are identified through a systematic literature review (SLR) and in-depth interviews with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders. These indicators are grouped into capability, coordination and networking, legal and institutional support, facilities and infrastructure, disaster management plan, and early warning system. Preparedness is then assessed using these indicators as a framework for conducting interviews and observations in the two districts. Cross-Sector humanitarian-business partnerships in managing humanitarian logistics comprise a key... more Cross-Sector humanitarian-business partnerships in managing humanitarian logistics comprise a key discussion topic in literature, yet empirical validations of these partnerships are lacking to date. This paper aims to develop a typological framework for humanitarian-business partnerships in managing humanitarian logistics and to empirically verify this typology with a data-set using content analysis. The results show that the amounts of partnerships developed between the business sector and the humanitarian sector in managing humanitarian logistics is still limited and these partnerships are not widely publicised. The research furthermore shows that financial contributions comprise the most common type of resource delivered by the business sector when it comes to partnerships with the humanitarian sector focused on managing humanitarian logistics. It is also interesting to note that the majority of partnerships in our sample are dyadic in nature, managed by a single humanitarian organisation and a single business corporation. Furthermore, we find that most of the partnerships target support for natural disaster emergency relief operations and mainly focus on disaster response.

Provinces in the eastern part of Indonesia still have the high percentage of residents living bel... more Provinces in the eastern part of Indonesia still have the high percentage of residents living below the poverty line. However, some provinces are the producers of food commodities. The One Village One Product (OVOP) movement has been proven to be able to reduce the poverty level and can be implemented in East Indonesia, especially by developing the community-based food industry. The objective of the research is to develop a decisionmaking model to determine the best suitable community-based food industry to be developed optimally in East Indonesia using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). We identify five criteria for the model from the literature and interviews with experts, namely resources, demand, supporting industries, strategy, and competitiveness, and supports from government and other parties. We apply the model to the case of East Sumba regency of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province, to select from alternatives, namely cassava, banana, corn and peanut-based food industries. The results show that banana-based industry is chosen as the best-suitable community-based food industry, mainly due to the uniqueness of the bananabased product and high production of banana in the area.

Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review is conducted based on the steps proposed by Denyer and Tranfield (2009). The context-intervention-mechanism-outcome (CIMO) logic is applied to identify the state of the art of partnerships between humanitarian organizations and business corporations in humanitarian logistics. Thirty-six papers related to the topic are extracted from recognized journal databases and then classified into four categories based on the CIMO logic: situational context, intervention factors, mechanisms and outcomes.
