Abstract

We propose a new quark model for the hadron spectrum. It consists of six quarks - the usual triplet and a new antitriplet of heavy quarks, with electric charges +2/3, +2/3,-1/3. The ψ particles are bound states of heavy qq pairs. Among many other predictions we find that R = 5 in e+e- scattering and Γ (ψ-->e+e-): Γ(ψ'-->e+e- = 2:1. The model naturally forbids neutral ∆S=1 weak currents and predicts a spectrum of heavy mesons and baryons.
