Social loafing is well documented in faceto-face interactions. In this study, group size, race an... more Social loafing is well documented in faceto-face interactions. In this study, group size, race and effort required to provide help, were manipulated in computer-mediated interactions. Results indicate main effects of group size and race on helpfulness, as well as an interaction between race and effort when controlling for group size and prediction of some of the effect by a measure of group identification.
